Years from now, music teachers will be teaching students the "Evancho Technique", as she will set the standard in classical crossover music.
The most mature stage presence of any performer ever. Her natural use of facial and hand emphasis is rarely achieved by the most seasoned of professional performers. The crescendo starting at 2:35 through the finale is worthy of an Emmy. Someday a movie of her life will be made, but there will be no comparable performers to act in her part. She will stand the test of time with the greatest performers who have ever lived. She stands alone in her genre of music.
There are no words to describe this talent, nothing I've seen or heard on what I've always thought was an awful show comes even remotely close. I look forward to hearing her as she develops into a mature and beautiful singer in the fullness of time.

Hey, all of you true (and normal) Jackie fans, I do surely believe that if we all just ignore the whacko TROLLS that are hanging around on her videos at the present time, they will do as all of the others have done in the past. Because of their demented mindsets they will eventually self-destruct and then fade away. I never tire of listening to this performance. The best she has sung ND to date. I still get tears in my eyes listening to it. It's a shame she doesn't sing it any more but I think when her vocal apparatus matures she will bring it back. And besides, she sings Nessun Dorma better than any other soprano even now. Not even the great Sarah Brightman can touch this vocal performance.

@sailorbsmart To aid in your inquiry regarding other female artists who have performed this piece, I would suggest that you search for the videos of Sarah Brightman singing Nessun Dorma. It doesn't have anywhere near the emotion and warm, rich vocal tones that Miss Evancho's version has, and is a bit edgy on some of the notes, but she has performed it many times. There are others here on YouTube also. Good luck.

Deanna Durbin, have sung ND. Two small, but very significant, changes have been made to Jackie's version; the third 'Vincero' she holds very long. No one not even the great Pavarotti, does that. It holds the listener like on the edge of a cliff. The fourth "Vincero' has never been sung by anyone else. The orchestra is usually left to close out the song.
@dieseldog00 Those two changes are the work of David Foster, the interpretive genius who produced her album Dream With Me. Nessun Dorma is on that album. I strongly urge you to buy it. And please don't download it without buying it. That's cheating the artist, in this case a 10 year old girl.
The 18 song Deluxe DWM is sold at Target stores nationwide. I bought 30 copies for my family and friends. They were all as gobsmacked as you were sailorb. :)

@HotRodder2100 It never ceases to amaze me when ever someone like that sees one of Jackie's videos where the audio/video sync problem exists, the first thing that they assume is that she is lip-synching. It makes me wonder if they even believe if that is her real voice, or if someone else is singing the song and she is just moving her mouth. As you said, "Didn't do your homework on Jackie" is usually the main problem. I suppose that her incredible voice is beyond belief for some people.

On YT it's hard to tell just how small Jackie is, I wish there was a site where the backup singers were standing on each side of her with Jackie in the middle, that would blow everyone's minds.
@Aurora2983 Bad technique! Watch Sarah Brightman and Tarja Turunen. Both have had opera training(Jackie hasn't). Neither one has Jackie's "chin waggle". Hopefully she will correct this problem soon.
I agree it looks very endearing(everything she does is endearing) but it's a poor way way to create vibrato.
@dieseldog00 The chin waggle is not necessarily a problem. It is the sound that counts. Don't look at the video but just listen. I've heard several greats without the "chin waggle" whose so-called vibrato was more a "wobble," Corelli for example.
@dieseldog00 ..Sarah Brightman's voice gets shrill and overpowering when she's trying to project and it's quite unpleasant to the ears. Jackie's voice is crystal clear and still has a mellow tone about it when she hits the hight notes......I'm sure whatever problems, real or imagined, will be corrected as she gets more experience.

The reason top singers don't have the chin waggle is cause they can't do it. If they could do it it would add vibrato to their voice and would enhance the volume and tone considerably. It's very difficult to learn how to do this but i have seen a couple of adult sopranos who use this technique to achieve a more beautiful tone.

@prometheus0814 I just watched it. NO chin waggle from Dame Sarah. And not only that, you will NEVER see a chin waggle from Dame Sarah in ANY of her videos. She was taught proper vibrato technique early in her singing career. (BTW Dame Sarah's vibrato has deteriorated in recent years and it's quite noticeable in that video.) :(
Having said all that, I believe Jackie will stop her chin waggle in the near future. She is a perfectionist and wants to sing the correct way.

@tube7562 It was hard to see if her chin was stationary or not but I'll take your word for it. If she has stopped the waggle she will make leaps and bounds in technique now. And yes the best vibrato on the planet is still intact!
@HotRodder2100 Yes because they are 'belters' and 'yellers'. The older opera singers like Domingo and Carreras like to be miked in their concerts because they don't have to force their voices.
Remember what Jackie sounded like when she was 9 and younger? I would like to know what made her voice change to what it is now. I heard she had her tonsils taken out and that's what changed her voice but I'm not sure...All I know is she makes grown people-even experienced singers-cry.

From what I've seen and heard, she has always had a beautiful voice, and it has only been getting better with practice. She is unquestionably a very gifted prodigy.
@dieseldog00 I've been in discussions with some audio engineers who have been analyzing the audio waveforms that Jackie produces, and it appears that her waveform patterns are very unique compared to other singers, in that there is usually a very pronounced double waveform pattern, which may result in the emotional response that people experience when she sings. This emotional response is most likely a combination of her voice and her visual portrayal of emotion when she sings.

@HotRodder2100 It never ceases to amaze me when ever someone like that sees one of Jackie's videos where the audio/video sync problem exists, the first thing that they assume is that she is lip-synching. It makes me wonder if they even believe if that is her real voice, or if someone else is singing the song and she is just moving her mouth. As you said, "Didn't do your homework on Jackie" is usually the main problem. I suppose that her incredible voice is beyond belief for some people.

I agree it looks very endearing(everything she does is endearing) but it's a poor way way to create vibrato.

@dieseldog00 The chin waggle is not necessarily a problem. It is the sound that counts. Don't look at the video but just listen. I've heard several greats without the "chin waggle" whose so-called vibrato was more a "wobble," Corelli for example.

@dieseldog00 ..Sarah Brightman's voice gets shrill and overpowering when she's trying to project and it's quite unpleasant to the ears. Jackie's voice is crystal clear and still has a mellow tone about it when she hits the hight notes......I'm sure whatever problems, real or imagined, will be corrected as she gets more experience.

The reason top singers don't have the chin waggle is cause they can't do it. If they could do it it would add vibrato to their voice and would enhance the volume and tone considerably. It's very difficult to learn how to do this but i have seen a couple of adult sopranos who use this technique to achieve a more beautiful tone.

@prometheus0814 I just watched it. NO chin waggle from Dame Sarah. And not only that, you will NEVER see a chin waggle from Dame Sarah in ANY of her videos. She was taught proper vibrato technique early in her singing career. (BTW Dame Sarah's vibrato has deteriorated in recent years and it's quite noticeable in that video.) :(
Having said all that, I believe Jackie will stop her chin waggle in the near future. She is a perfectionist and wants to sing the correct way.

Remember what Jackie sounded like when she was 9 and younger? I would like to know what made her voice change to what it is now. I heard she had her tonsils taken out and that's what changed her voice but I'm not sure...All I know is she makes grown people-even experienced singers-cry.

From what I've seen and heard, she has always had a beautiful voice, and it has only been getting better with practice. She is unquestionably a very gifted prodigy.

This emotional response is most likely a combination of her voice and her visual portrayal of emotion when she sings.
