I'm Russian, and the way you speak sounds like Russian who tries to speak with an american accent, if u wonna be better at Russian accent, don't talk that fast, every word must be seperate from each other, and when you say directions, you sound like diereactons, you should say derectons, that's the way we speak. Sorry for my English, it kinda sucks

Just a side note, if your character can't immediately recall the name of "America's pass time," and is still learning English, then the only bat that they probably know about is the flying mammal, and would have either "club" or "bludgeon" in its place.
