Reagan was re-elected because the economy was healthy, then Bush was elected. That's 3 Repub terms and it would have been a 4th if Perot didn't run and split the Repub votes. Clinton was re-elected because he changed from herd left to centrist and he worked WITH the repubs to create a better economy. The economy went to crap when Clinton and his Dems wanted everyone to own their own home and pursue the "American Dream." Clinton's National Homeownership Strategy. It promoted paper-thin downpayments and pushed for ways to get lenders to give mortgage loans to first-time buyers with shaky financing and incomes.
Franks and Dodd hid the Fannie Freddie problems when the Repubs questioned them in 2005.
The Dems had a lot to with our current crisis, it just exploded under Bushes term.

Obama has shut down oil drilling in the gulf, illegally, and his EPA and other regulators have killed thousands of other jobs in this country. The GOP in the house has passed more than 16 bills, with Dem votes, bi-partisan, that would increase jobs by cutting down the overreaching and strangulating big govt. regulations. The issue here is not what Cain did 12 years ago which has no proof, or hard facts. There was only accusations, no trial, no legal procedings, no legal defense. Do you convict people on accusations alone?

These tax breaks have been extended over the last twelve years and they have not helped to create any new jobs here in the US.
