I think it is VERY easy to demonize ANY race/country without not really lying once.
What I mean is, I don't think there's any nation in human history that has not
engaged in any atrocities. So, if you selectively describe these things for 60 minutes, you have an all-truth (sort of) propaganda film. The opposite is
also true. You could easily angelize any race just by choosing nicer things they've done (and ignoring ugly deeds.)

My grandpa was born when the Japanese invaded China (and that was 20 years before the Communist took over) and he told me he already knew Tibet was a part of China that time. I don't know how factual it is, but I believe my grandpa's personal life experience more than what the present day media says.

You are an absolute FOOL!! This film was made in 1943 during the WAR. Sure it has propaganda but it does provide a decent overall view of each theater of operation/war. watch the previous film in the series about the Russian campaign. It does provide a GOOD view of the overall military picture at that time in Russia. Doubtful Russia could have done it alone. 2 front war guaranteed nazi loss. Russia needed US arms shipments desperately in 42/43. Plus numerous other reasons/issues

I won't be surprised if some bits are exaggerated, but I believe that most of it is true. It is also interesting to see what the old Nanjing, Shanghai and places in China looked like before the Japanese destroyed them. It really saddens me to see the amount of destruction that went on.
Of course a year later (1945) Hiroshima and Nagasaki experienced the atomic bomb, killing a large number of civilians too. Getting a taste of their own medicine I suppose. War is sad.

As I've written... it's history ... the Red Army had to fight the Japanese and the Kuomintang ... which preferred to attack the Red Army ... and that was America's main concern towards the Kuomintang ... it's lack of focus in face of a much dangerous enemy ... which eventually did allow the Red Army to stand as the sole champion of China's national interests ....
