Do you think this case will work well with an aftermarket beveled aluminum back plate for my Iphone? I would love to have both but will the seams match up good on the back or should I just get a regular non beveled aluminum back plate?

I've used my vapor 4 on 2 iphone 4s that I have owned and the signal has never noticeably degraded with the case on. Also, the signal attenuation that occurred when I used the phone without a case is cured by the case, the case has saved my phone from a nasty 3ft drop onto concrete with only a tiny dent which I could polish out if I wanted to, highly recommended! :)

i got the newest case and its horrible, i still got the antenna gate issue. in areas that i would normally have 3 to 4 bars and 3g, I would have 1 or 2 and have Edge.

i had this case...IT'S CRAP!!!...it lowered my signal by 2 bars on average...i was stupid and didn't listen to other people's comments on poor signal. then when i tried to return it element tried to charge me 20% restocking because i didn't have the $.25 box they sent it in, and they said nothing about why it lowered my signal...DON'T BUY IT....it sucks and the company sucks

the simcard cutout is most likely there because the case is screwed on with allen keys and you might not have that handy on you all the time if in need to take out sim card..

all other cases dont do it cause they aren't screwed on.

Actually, the cases are really good. Just cause the Vapor is 3x more expensive doesn't mean it's better. Everyone knows that everything is made in China. I had bought one from cnn dot cn and it was plastic... two weeks later it was off my phone and I was missing 2 screws. Razor Edge's backs kill it with the metal screw holes.

I got a 007 one with the lucky labs carbonfiber. Looks and fells great. Signal did drop a bar or two time to time but it still surfs the web and makes calls so I'm fine with it. Have not had a dropped call or run into no signal after a week.

And I do agree alittle pricey. And takes way to long to get. But milling aluminum Anit cheap.

I got conned into buying the iPhone 4, dropped calls and all. So I thought that I couldn't possibly get ripped off again so soon when I bought the Element Case Vapor (Limited, no less).

Wrong again, pig breath. After being on their "exclusive" waiting list, better known as the suckers' list, I finally received my "Vapor 007." They had me hook, line, and sinker; that is, they had my MO-NEY.

One problem: No protective pads, as per their warning letter, so I had to RETURN it for their fix!

i just received my all silver vapor 4 and shure earphones DO WORK WITH IT! i plugged in my shure se530 earphones and although it doesn't go all the way in, the final "click" makes music come through on both sides of the earphone. reception does go down 1-2 bars.

I was going to buy this case but now I am not. For 80 dollars I expect more. All of the cut outs for this case are stupid. The SIM card cut out is not necessary, the audio jack cut out is way too long and the cut out for the volume buttons looks out of place. They should have gone with the sleep/wake button design and given it chrome buttons of its own. What a disappointment :\

ok this looks awesome but my only concern is the possibility of dropping it screen down, possibly cracking the screen. does the vapor case have enough of a raised edge to prevent that? i searched high and low for pics of an iphone in a vapor case. and ur video is pretty good but i can't really tell if its raised enough or not.

Ive tried a few different types of cases including apple bumper -

Ive ended up with just a screen protecter and a leather pouch to keep it from scratches in my pocket and just lying around.

I prefer the iphone4 exactly as it came

And no signal issues ;)

Larry, excellent review as always. Just a comment about dock connector accessibility on the iPhone 4 with various cases. My Belkin car charger does not work with with the Apple bumper - it never makes good contact. It also does not work with my iSkin Solo case (just received that on Friday), but then again, the Apple dock connector also doesn't work with the iSkin either! Guess the problem is more wide-spread than just the Vapor case? Great work again...

Too many trolls on Youtube. Anyway, I had high hopes for this case, but it doesn't seem all that great to me now. It just looks like replacing one metal spine for another. I think they made the sim slot for emergencies when you need to get the sim card out. So you only have one little metal tool to carry around.

Hi Larry, FYI, when you push the bottom leftside of the case firmly, it will touch the antenna and it kills the signal. Im sending mine back. Im totally surprised that they didnt put the rubber film sticker all around the inside of the case, instead of just the corners. Also, besides not able to use any of my third party accessories, the top on/off button is to big and keep wanting to turn my phone off.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out but I just recieved this case today. If you dock your iPhone (I have an iHome and also a bedside clock to dock my iPhone), it will not fit. I also have a Belkin iPhone dock in my car, and it wouldn't fit either. It's a bummer since it is a nice case but there is no easy way to take it off without unscrewing it. Just thought you folks may want to know before purchasing this.
