  • Interesting, would this mean god is both good and evil?

  • @CoLegacy If god is all qualities then yes.

  • I'm a Diest and use common sense to treat others like you would want to be treated. Although a Deist I also visit a Catholic Church but I don't agree with their rules. I believe in Gay Rights..I believe Priests and Nuns should be allowed and encouraged to marry like during the Middle Ages. My wife is Catholic and does not belive in abortion and I side with her to make her feel comfortable but I'm for abortion and Euthenasia w/ Dignity for those suffering with irriversable illnesses.

  • @rehndawg Hmm... My problem is that you force yourself to say the opposite of what you feel is right when it comes to abortion. Abortion is a pretty important issue world wide. Remember; the catholic church is knowingly spreading disinformation about condom use, sexual diseases and abortion. They work against family planning in the countries where they need it most. Perhaps you should try to make your wife understand you position?

  • clear and honest video.

if there is nothing outside god, could it even perceive itself? I mean I can perceive my hands because they "end"; without finite form there would b no "mine" to perceive as my body.

So I think god would b the whole of reality, which would be a pretty lonely spot to occupy.

Consciousness could keep reality some company, a nagging one maybe but it would still help with the blues:))

Could consciousness b a stage in the evolution of matter? matter->life->consciousness->etc?

  • If I was all there was, would I be able to know myself? You should look up Alan Watts if you havent already.

Consciousness an evolutionary stage? Evolution requires time. Time is a dimension like up or down, a direction if you will, and evolution is merely an arrow pointing along that direction. I think it might be a mistake to look at the universe as "evolving", as the universe taken as a whole also have contain ALL of time, from beginning to the end/ infinity, just as it contains all of space.

  • watts, I thought the name sounded familiar. I really loved his " way of zen".

I guess all of time and all of space would be "moving" inside the universe.

the 5 senses, then a basic perception of space, then time, then of the self, would "evolve" a consciousness obsessed with its mortality as it can "perceive death" in the time dimension.

The universe has a wonderful sense of humor if smth as messed up as a consciousness with a fetish for eternal life is the side effect of inanimate matter:)

  • Great video! The best definition would be God is the Apha and the Omega. I respect people like you. Maybe you don't realize but you just give the best exemple of what is God or what we call God is. I believe God is the universe, God is just a word for what we can't explain but it is alive and have consciousness, in my opinion of course ...

  • @philbox17 well but the universe is definitely not alive. Only a tiny tiny fraction of it is alive. So if God is alive he cannot possibly be the universe. For the opposite to be true you have to redefine the word alive. But then if it no longer means what it does today --namely the set of attributes necessary to make an entity like an eagle or a fox alive but not an entity like a table or an iPhone -- then what do you think it means?

  • what do you mean by spiritual fuelers? i ididnt quite understand that part

  • hmmm... Spiritual feelers. Like spiritual nerves...

  • I still believe in an eternal God head.Thus.You have failed

  • Cool Muhaddith. I welcome such a message discussion. It is often easier to discuss these things in written form, where more thought can be put into each argument and the presentation of them.

  • your vids are really cool btw. ;)

  • wow! you're just like those skinheads we see in porn movies! pretty damn hot!. ;P

  • ha:) thanks... I think

  • no prob man! you rock! my sisters and i were watching your stuff last night and we all agree you need to take the shirt off. sally and i bet 10 bucks you probably have a cool tatoo on your hot arm. ; )

  • Hmmmm...you came remarkably close, then shied away so quickly... lolol... yes, yes... I know... it's scary, out there... sorta...

Why is duality presumed to be the only rational concept? Who made that silly rule UP, anyway?

Let us suppose, for the sake of argument...that the creator IS outside all accepted definitive parameters encompassed by the religions created by finite minds (you can add logic in there too, if you like...)

suggested reading: 1-2-3: Infinity, by George Gamow

    lolol...

  • Atoms have electrons and protons. Opposites that would cancel each other out. But there are also neutrons in the atom, which offsets the center of balance, allowing the thing to exist. So I see where you're coming from. However, I believe in a grand collective consciousness in the universe including all things and life. And the only way I can back that up is to say that there must be more good in the universe than bad, and when you look at our society, I think you can agree.

  • All things might cancel each other out in the end, or at the universe seen as a whole from beginning to end.

That does not mean that lots of interesting things cant happen inbetween...

Collective consciousness... I agree in part. But the whole taken as a whole is zero, the only way it can exist is in parts... I think anyways... Separate yet one...

  • tch tch tch..... you don't need to QUANTIFY infinity. It all balances out, in the non-end, after all.... lolol

  • To hold the entire spectrum IS GOD. I wanna die to know that I wanna live, I want to hate to know that I want to love, I want to destroy to know that I want to create, what I want to create, and how awakened I want to feel as i am creating it. Is this awakening GOD? Therefore it is whatever brought that knowledge to the surface. Judgement can be the destroyer and the creator. ELLA ALKEMY

  • hmmmmm.....impressive.... ;)

  • What you're saying is that God is bipolar, the thesis and antithesis, the protagonist and antagonist and that there is no way God can be just good, God also must be evil. In other words, he encompasses the extremes of duality. I don't buy it. I've seen enough in my day to realize that among his creation there are good people and there are evil people and they are NOT one and the same people yet they are ONE in the sense they share a world, an entire universe.

  • And both are created hypothetically by a bipolar God?

  • It is an interesting concept or theory you pose. I suppose that if God is everything, then God also is nothing. The sum of all of the positives and negatives is zero. So do we exist at all if we are created in God's image? Just following the same path of logic...

  • exactly my point in the previous vid. IF god is everything, then the concept is meaningless in our daily lives, because you will not gain or lose by worshiping or not worshiping.

The sum of all emotions and properties might be zero, but that does not mean they dont exist. I guess this makes sense of the buddhist phrase "form is emtiness and emtiness is form".

  • ...or is everything created in God's image... ?

...or is nothing created in God's image....?

sorry...that sounded like sophistry....actually, I'm just trying to be inclusionist, here... lol

  • 'bipolar' is a little too....limiting...

How about 'omnidirectional?" I've always liked that one... :D

  • Indeed Brahamn is at the same time Vishnu (the preserver) and Shiva (the destroyer). In other words the Absolute is the opposites because nothing can't be without its opposite. I'm agnostic but I like very much these advaita vedanta kind of phylosophies (having its own christian and muslim versions as well, from Meister Eckhart to Sufism). I don't know if this is true but I'd like it to be.

  • In other worlds, you've just depicted that kind of Absolute portrayed in non-dual doctrines & similar ones (I'd put into it Spinoza as well, with all the coherent and congruent same ethical consequences). Usually they got expressed by theologians and immediately hindered by the religious organization, ending at the stake or with excummunications. *IF* there is an Absolute this would one I kinda like :)

  • Touchè:)

  • Indeed I did suspect it :)

  • heheheh :D
