That was Dweez on the 1st... he took lessons from Vai, so it's natural he would have some similar sounds, but I think those weird noises he was making at the end were from his VanHalen influence (that strange tapped harmonics sweep of the strings around 3:25) cf. Van Halen "Eruption solo" on YouTube...
I'm still confused on the first solo. Clearly the second is Frank. The liner notes state Dweezil as the first solo but it sounds like Vai. I don't think the Dweez was quite that good at that time. Parts of it sound like him but other parts sound too much like Vai. I WANT THE TRUTH! OY!
