@wdmccord I know the exact spot you are talking about; however this location is not featured on the layout. It is just about a mile south of the area that I am modeling.
I spy with my railroading eye.....that double-track bridge over I-75. :)
Used to love railfanning up there, and then running over toward Lake Allatoona (a few miles east of this spot) to watch them cross over the lake and roll into Acworth. :)
Very nice Jamie! The south end of the passing track looks spot on, i shot a SB grain train there not long ago and the terrain profile looks perfect. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.
Thanks! I have lots of photos I took on location clipped up all over the layout to make sure I get the general profiles and layouts as close to the real thing as possible.
This is actually part of the CSX W&A Sub (Atlanta Division) from Atlanta to Chattanooga. Emerson is a small town with a passing siding about 25 miles north of Atlanta.
Oh- last year I had decided to change my railroad from modern day CSX in GA to the 1966 era Seaboard Air Line in SC/NC. However, I switched back to the modern CSX era when I realized my modern concrete track would not fit in.
Great progress man. I must have missed this one when you posted it. Well done.

And are those Kato's or Atlas models?
Anyways, dude keep up the good work.

Ok, I looked on your site and it said something about Waxhaw, NC (where I railfan). What was that about?
