and I think there's an installer somewhere that installs you the game with a completely configured dosbox, meaning that you only have to run the game from the shortcut instead of emulating the environment and running the game separately

How do you get the big overhead map? I always get a small area map of the parts within like 20 meters of me. Also when I click that icon, no spells, weapons, and potions! Please help! Good review though!

There is actually some varied music for dungeons for people who had General MIDI. But, yeah, people who used FM Synth were stuck with that same damn dungeon music over and over.

I didn't realize they'd used some of the same music from Daggerfall. Then again, I never knew about Arena until long after I'd stopped playing the sequel.

One day in the future we will need PC gaming forums and websites that you have to pay to register on, just to keep the console fans away. It's amazing how often a console owner butts into a PC forum, but you never see it the other way!

What I like is that you did not give a score. I think that is right for games older than say 10 years. If you are going to score it, it should only be compared with it;s contemporary's. it is ludicrous to compare 1992 cRPG's with 2006 Oblivion, etc!

Hmm... that's odd... on my version of this game there are no voice overs during the cutscenes....

@GeneralNerevarine There's only voices in the cd version. The free version of the game doesn't have it since it's the floppy disk version.

@jfl125 You mean at 5:48? That's just one part. Arena is the only Elder Scrolls game that let's you explore all of Tamriel. So you can go to Skyrim, Morrowind, etc.

when i get to the shift gate in the sewers it asks me about the costs of spells, there are 2 questions about random spells, any two ansers brings dosbox back to the main black screen and it says "arena 1.6 complete" help!

I'm assuming you downloaded the game from Bethesda's site right? Well check the folder the game's in and look for a folder called documents, in there is some file called copy protection or spells or something like that. Anyway print that file and use it for the spell gate.
