@bizarreunderworld I have only played one game that was on floppy disk and that was some old indy car game. I rarely played on the computer in the 90's. I was more of a console gamer. I didn't start playing on the computer till 99 or 2000. When I was old enough to actually know the controls.
@FulGore12195 I personally prefer pc gaming. I can get better graphics on my pc than i can get on a ps3 or xbox although i do own both ps3 and xbox 360. Consoles have their place. There are some games i prefer on console while others i prefer on pc. Duke Nuke coming out is pre ordered for pc. I play wow which is pc, but Car racing games like Midnight Club L.A, GTa i prefer on console. I own GTA IV on PC, Ps3 and Xbox 360. Love the game :p
@bizarreunderworld I like RPG's on consoles better than I do pc. I don't like a lot of buttons while playing an RPG. But FPS games are best on PC. GTA I like on console as well as pc cause it has mods. I play on my computer just as much as my PS3. But consoles have some good exclusives.
@FulGore12195 Yea GTA on pc for mods is cool, i have been meaning to pimp my GTA IV with snow. I have no idea as to why rockstar doesn't add weather to it. New York as much as I am aware snows, im sure they could add it, have summer, which makes u and others not be able to run as long or fast. Yeah, lol, updates people. My son, Garrett, is 4 now...he is a thief! He'll walk right up to some family members look them in the eyes, smile, and have his hand in their pocket or in their purse. Love him to death, awesome that the name has been instilled, but jeez I hope he grows out of it or he's so badass that he's never caught. LOL!
Garret is nice character. No hero, nor clear villain, no weakling, nor demigod. Just ironic, cynical guy with pack of unusual but also not supernatural abillities. He don't really care about world and people, but also do not play around when there is something that need to to be done!
But just think, as person who want to be in shadows, how really pissed off he must be, by constantly getting into greater troubles ;).
Thief was excellent because of the way everything was presented. Garrett was a good person to play as (even though I was not sure about his accent). We all hope there is going to be a bright future for the franchise. I am not extremely happy about Square took over the franchise, but there have been much worse cases in the past.
this trailer seems to have too much combat. I've finished the entire game and fought face to face 5-6 times. it is stealth after all. it's always better to slay or knock someone out from behind.
no stealth game expert , but this was the best stealth game i ever played and the haunted orphanage level was the more creepy and hair raising than any horror game i ever played

@llovka Besides the fact that Assassin's Creed is a game of a completely different nature than Thief and therefore there should not be competition at all between the two except maybe for who's got the best looking hood (which btw would not be Garrett's requirement I'm sure), I agree with u: Thief is an amazing and unique series of games (especially the first 2 installments) and SR's vo brands the main charatcer as no other.

Though I haven't played the first 2. I can confidently say Thief 3 (Deadly Shadows) is the best stealth game I've ever played. It continues to introduce new ways to use stealth through-out the development of the story which keeps it fresh.
I bought this game during a Steam Christmas sale without knowing anything about it. It turned out to be better than I expected (I love that feeling with a game).
The ending was perfect too. So much so that I don't want there to be a Thief 4.
I just finished playing them not too long ago. I jumped a few levels in Thief1 after I got the general idea of the levels because they were pretty "mehh" but the second was absolutely amazing!
I loved that mission (in the mansion with all the secret passages) where you had to go around not getting caught and knock people out and the one where you're jumping all over the roof tops. Soo intense.
Apparently this game is awesome. I might consider buying this game if anyone can tell me it's as good or maybe even better than stealth games such as Assassin's Creed 2 or Splinter Cell

Im pc gamer..and I never heard much of Thief series before. I only played Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell series as they were stealthgames . Well I really liked the game, but I preffer the levels where Garrett acts like a thief, as in the museum and the castle levels, and not like a tomb explorer, as in the lizard's city.

Yeah, lol, updates people. My son, Garrett, is 4 now...he is a thief! He'll walk right up to some family members look them in the eyes, smile, and have his hand in their pocket or in their purse. Love him to death, awesome that the name has been instilled, but jeez I hope he grows out of it or he's so badass that he's never caught. LOL!

Garret is nice character. No hero, nor clear villain, no weakling, nor demigod. Just ironic, cynical guy with pack of unusual but also not supernatural abillities. He don't really care about world and people, but also do not play around when there is something that need to to be done!
But just think, as person who want to be in shadows, how really pissed off he must be, by constantly getting into greater troubles ;).

Thief was excellent because of the way everything was presented. Garrett was a good person to play as (even though I was not sure about his accent). We all hope there is going to be a bright future for the franchise. I am not extremely happy about Square took over the franchise, but there have been much worse cases in the past.

this trailer seems to have too much combat. I've finished the entire game and fought face to face 5-6 times. it is stealth after all. it's always better to slay or knock someone out from behind.

no stealth game expert , but this was the best stealth game i ever played and the haunted orphanage level was the more creepy and hair raising than any horror game i ever played

@llovka Besides the fact that Assassin's Creed is a game of a completely different nature than Thief and therefore there should not be competition at all between the two except maybe for who's got the best looking hood (which btw would not be Garrett's requirement I'm sure), I agree with u: Thief is an amazing and unique series of games (especially the first 2 installments) and SR's vo brands the main charatcer as no other.

Compare it to modern day videogames like call of shitty and even most movies that come out these days and you'll see how good the storyline of Assassin's Creed is. Maybe not the best, but it's decent for an ACTION game. Don't tell me you're comparing it to this shitty game with no real story whatsoever.. tekken has a more interesting story than this. It's just a bunch of shitty levels stacked together.

Though I haven't played the first 2. I can confidently say Thief 3 (Deadly Shadows) is the best stealth game I've ever played. It continues to introduce new ways to use stealth through-out the development of the story which keeps it fresh.
I bought this game during a Steam Christmas sale without knowing anything about it. It turned out to be better than I expected (I love that feeling with a game).
The ending was perfect too. So much so that I don't want there to be a Thief 4.

I just finished playing them not too long ago. I jumped a few levels in Thief1 after I got the general idea of the levels because they were pretty "mehh" but the second was absolutely amazing!
I loved that mission (in the mansion with all the secret passages) where you had to go around not getting caught and knock people out and the one where you're jumping all over the roof tops. Soo intense.

@imdagiver hi imdagiver, in response to your question about trying the thief game. I would say this game is a definite must if you are keen on stealth game. The graphics might be decent but the gameplay and storyline is will immerse you into the world of thief. I would recommend this game to you.

Im pc gamer..and I never heard much of Thief series before. I only played Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell series as they were stealthgames . But still I wanted to know what was so great about this game. I downloaded it and I would say I wasnt really fond at the beginning. But it was only after when I played the first few missions then I realised the true marvel of this game..Real Stealth defines this game..it may not be visible to ur eyes in the shelves..but you try it once..your addicted

Well I really liked the game, but I preffer the levels where Garrett acts like a thief, as in the museum and the castle levels, and not like a tomb explorer, as in the lizard's city.
