It's not a Golf or Octavia. True, the old model was a Golf with a new shell, but in the new TT the only thing taken from the Golf is the engine, and even then it actually works better in the TT because of the improved transmission. No practicality? Look at the Z4s, 350Zs, RX-8s, they are not supposed to be practical. It has two front seats with plenty of space and a decent sized boot, what more would you like out of a sports coupe?

@chrissaysno the new one have only the engine from a golf???? laugh .....i have disassembled both cars the floor of the old one its the same as golf,leon,octavia,a3-4 etch (group vag) with a sheel that has nothing to do with other vag's cars and also the inside of the car was unique with nothing from the others eccept the floor and mechanics that never had problems,anyway the new one uses eccept the same floor same dashboard same interior ,seats,wheels,bumper,lights and many more>

@eviltag from the Audi A3-S3 also you can check at your nearest dealer to see the spare parts codes they didnt even change the codes and for which reason? its the same car exactly ...know to move on go and buy fenders,lights,bumpers,interio­r etc from the old tt and put them iinto another audi ,you just can't eccept the mechanicals The old one wrote history the new one isnt so fast and just follows i own one old tt 1.8t 225 quattro and many friends that drive the new one crying !

Lol, Sadly, whoever you heard that from is wrong. Both Cars are designed off the A4 platform and, R8 is a lot later then the TT.

Design concepts can always be reused. It is not a cheaper version,The TT and R8 are very different creatures. :). (This is basicaly for others to read) R8 is like rigid aggressiveness all the way, TT is a bit laidback, a middle spot.

The TFSI stands for "Turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection" is the 2.0 litre engine with direct injection got 200 HP time in 0-100Km/h (0-60mph) is 6.5 seconds, it can run 240Km/h ( 145mph)

There is also the 3.2 litre version 4 wheeldrive with 250 HP 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and 250 Km/h (151 mph)

they are all alluminium frame so the car weight is only 1250 Kg

Nope. Only the frame forward of the b-pillar is aluminum. The rear frame is steel to better the weight balance.
