there's no way the golden fox is that fast. part of the game's mechanics will not let the opponent get too far behind. Sometimes similar things happen in the Grand Prix. For example, as the Fire Stingray, using a speed boost, but not making up any ground on the Blue Falcon in front of you (it's happened to me).
2:12,67 = 132,67 sec
@ghot123 They rapidly tap the gas button which slows you down by a couple of MPH which allows you to turn much easier. Try turning at full speed vs. a couple of mph slower and you see the difference. I'm still jaw dropped when I see these records.
nice matey. imo a shortcut gives you are around 1second advantage. depending on how to using the booster. so go on to break it. the main point on this track are the last hairpin curves where he always go through with nearly full speed.!!!
i used to hate to do those jumps! i used to have this game for SNES intil the console started messing up! I like the N64 better more challenging. More race courses and cars
Hm, I got 3'13"46 and 0'37"30. Pretty nice time though, for I didn't use the shortcut jump and an enemy for fast start :P (one of my records is 3'15"18 aka Pi =P)
PAL times get converted from NTSC ones due to different frame rates on the television sets required (Europe uses PAL, America/Japan use NTSC, not sure about elsewhere though of course you can play the alternate frame rate if you buy the necessary snes/cartridge/tv types). The conversion rate for F-Zero is 3/4, i.e. divide a PAL time by 4 and multiply the result by 3 to get an NTSC time.
coz he takes a shortcut with that jump... just watch the track in the first round and then the second, you see the difference? :D its a hard shortcut ^^
I thought the N64 version was almost perfect. The only snag was the fucking restriction with only having the course generator on the 64DD! BASTARDS!!! Have to agree that the SNES version was great too. It set the benchmark.
you can buy a 64 DD to have the track builder. It's expansive but if you like the game and like create your level it's a must have. I have bought one last year and I play with it almost each day. It's really enjoyable. And do not wish a rom or a wii port it will never come I gess. :)
Unfortunately, they never released the 64DD in Britain. Guess i'll never experience it. Shame. Hopefully they'll make it for the Wii, and with a track generator!
I think all songs are great, I said this in another video to that the Snes always had the right theme with the right level. It really fits the environment and its freaking awesome too
best game ever created... i remember being so fucking excited if there was a snow day, get to play this all day... if i could go back. . .

die Frage ist nicht die Kurvenfahrt, sondern wie schafft der Spieler im Video es die Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 478 km/h konstant so zu halten ?
ghot123 1 year ago
@jlo138: I dont understand it perfect, because i´m from german, can you translate it or write it in "easy english"? THANK YOU !
ghot123 1 year ago

das verhältnis ist
NTSC 3 : PAL 4
also
(132,67sec / 3) * 4 = 176,89secs
176,89secs = 2:56,89
also der rekord für europäer ist 2:56,89 ^^
hast es verstanden?`^^

how did you keep the 478km/h up ?
So, I´m very bad, best record more than 3 minutes, without jump, but the speed ist important, how can i hold it ?

I personally think that doin cheap shit like that jump to get a fast shouldnt be a record. its no different than cheating
2FaceVic 3 years ago
hmmm.. but you get reset long way back by the ship and the only time gain is that you have a booster else there is no advantage ^^

NTSC VERSION
trollingtheweb 3 years ago
I own an "NTSC VERSION" (original USA cart).
You skip off the track like that you explode and get a nice panning view of your smoking heap.
This is neat and all, but that jump is cheating.
SexConker 2 years ago
When it comes to time records, people will do whatever they can do to shave seconds off. If the game allows it, it's fair game.

Is F-Zero really worth buying for $7? I'm talking about the Original SNES cartridge.
KeijiDragon 4 years ago
Yeah, it's fun and is one of the original SNES games. I would just get it for the pure nostalgia factor. I was like 12 when it came out.
atomic40 4 years ago
nostalgia is not a good reason. virtually every sequel is better.
