i don't mind this incarnation of Mario and DK, i think Mario actually sounds kinda cool. and Donkey Kong is the typical catch phrase character of cartoons from this time.

", Junior was trying to rescue his dad from Mario,so maybe that's why Mario is semi-villianous in this cartoon,Mario would go back to a hero in "Mario Bros" as a plumber & then in the "Super Mario Bros" series

I'm such a nerd I know this: at the time of Donkey Kong, Mario was said to be a carpenter. As of nowadays, Nintendo's official statements are that Mario and Luigi are simply denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. They aren't officially Italian nor plumbers, despite the fact that they say things like "mama mia."

According to Nintendo, they aren't. I have no idea why. Though the "lotsa spaghetti" line is from a non-Nintendo Mario game, but yeah, they still have Italian names and use other Italian phrases and stuff. I have no idea why, really, I just know Nintendo's official statement is that they are not.

Funny thing is that I watched this crap when I was a kid, but I never really realized that underdog comic relief villain was Mario, then again I am not really sure if I had played any Mario game by then... (Super Mario bros was the first Mario game I ever played) Even though I got Mario Bros later.

I actually think they say gay at least once in the intro, considering that in old times (hint: this show = ancient times) gay was another word for fun. (Read the text for jinglebells to get a grip)

Considering the intro ask us to join the supercade super gay fun... and that the show includes a woman going all wet for a gorilla AND Mario (I dont know that ugly guy but he has the same name as the famous plumber, LOL) Jumps into a tiny tight coffin together with a blond bimbo...I am not surprised if you find "banana plantation" a little... ya know.....

haha, yeah I remember these cartoons. You have to remember this is the beginning of video games being super huge and seeing a cartoon of it was amazing. I know it is cheesy now, but was hot back in they day. Especially Donkey Kong being my favorite game at the time.
