The reason the comics industry doesn't bend itself the fanboys' every whim is that comic fans are butthurt about fucking everything. Nothing would ever get done because as soon as they took something in a different direction, people would tape themselves rambling on about it for ten minutes and they'd have to change it back. And then people would complain about that too. The marketing has made the new Spider-Man's race seem a bit contrived, but I'm still interested because it's something new.

I read the Ultimate Fallout #4. I'm not too sure about this Morales character. He fought the Kangaroo and pretty much won by fluke. He doesn't seem to have any super strength just a spider sense and wall crawling abilities. I don't know. I don't really care about his ethnicity or his sexual orientation like everyone else. I only care if his character is actually worthy of being Spider-Man and so far I'm fairly disappointed. Not to mention the unfinished stories left in Peter's life.

And that Spider-Man that you called the original is not the original. The Amazing Spider-Man you read is volume 2. The original series ended in the nineties and then they tried to bring it back and it was just a bunch of shit besides maybe a few stories which were okay.

The only thing I can look forwrd to now is "The amazing spider-man" movie. Cause I accually like that.
Well there are plenty of times where "white actors" displace minorities in film. "The Tuareg:Desert Warrior". Tonto.... The Jonny five indian guy ect.... I have no problem with the change because Peter Parker's identity is not race specific. There is nothing in Parker's personality that makes him impossible to be played by anyone of a different race. and it is about money if SpiderMan is multi-ethnic it generates more revenue. case in point the 2010 Karate Kid.

I'm more concerned about the fact that he's THIRTEEN YEARS OLD as opposed to his race. Oh, and that they killed off Peter frickin' Parker, only to replace him with someone who by all accounts appears to have basically the same personality and character traits. I'd have no problem with another Spidey if it was done well, but if you're going to kill off Marvel's flagship hero only to replace him with someone exactly like him in all ways except skin colour, then it looks pretty fishy.

The reason the comics industry doesn't bend itself the fanboys' every whim is that comic fans are butthurt about fucking everything. Nothing would ever get done because as soon as they took something in a different direction, people would tape themselves rambling on about it for ten minutes and they'd have to change it back. And then people would complain about that too. The marketing has made the new Spider-Man's race seem a bit contrived, but I'm still interested because it's something new.

I read the Ultimate Fallout #4. I'm not too sure about this Morales character. He fought the Kangaroo and pretty much won by fluke. He doesn't seem to have any super strength just a spider sense and wall crawling abilities. I don't know. I don't really care about his ethnicity or his sexual orientation like everyone else. I only care if his character is actually worthy of being Spider-Man and so far I'm fairly disappointed. Not to mention the unfinished stories left in Peter's life.

@montezdariel The Ultimate Universe was the only decent comics Marvel was producing in terms of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man stories. Amazing Spider-Man hasn't been good for twenty years. And that Spider-Man that you called the original is not the original. The Amazing Spider-Man you read is volume 2. The original series ended in the nineties and then they tried to bring it back and it was just a bunch of shit besides maybe a few stories which were okay.

I don't understand why Marvel or any comic company, feels the need to change white characters ethnicities. Pandering?. It seems to me people of all colours enjoy superheroes the way they are. Imagine the uproar if Blade was rebooted as a white guy?. Yet it wouldn't be racist to criticise that would it?. There is plenty of room in the pantheon of superheroes for Blacks, Asians, Latinos etc as long as they are NEW characters, not existing ones who have changed race.

I'm black, and I think it's a great idea. Even if they made him "Asian" I wouldn't mind at all. I think they want to reach out to the bi-racial population. Also like you said "We didn't watch spider-man because of the suit but because of who he was." I agree 100%... So this essentially a whole different comic book now. I'm frankly excited and can't wait to see what direction this goes. Anyway, thanks for the video I enjoyed watching. Let's not hold on to the past, but let's embrace the future.

If anything they are taking the ultimate serious in a new direction. If you don't like it simply don't but the comic and just support the "main" marvel spider-man. Simple as that.

I'm a latino, and I don't like this new comic.
Only because I grew up with peter being spidey. I hate that they killed him off in ultimate, I never understood the whole race thing as a kid so I found myself in peter parker it didn't matter if he was white, he was just a kid with regular problems, he was me he was you and if he's dead Spiderman should be too.
The only thing I can look forwrd to now is "The amazing spider-man" movie. Cause I accually like that.

Well there are plenty of times where "white actors" displace minorities in film. "The Tuareg:Desert Warrior". Tonto.... The Jonny five indian guy ect.... I have no problem with the change because Peter Parker's identity is not race specific. There is nothing in Parker's personality that makes him impossible to be played by anyone of a different race. and it is about money if SpiderMan is multi-ethnic it generates more revenue. case in point the 2010 Karate Kid.
