  • It's our old friend Ludwig Van.

  • the beginning always reminds me of Dvoraks 9th New World symphony.

  • Don't know whether I love Beethoven or Kubrick more.

  • you tend to miss kubrick

  • It's a sin!

  • @BringMellTheHorizon Only the fourth movement

  • what is the name of the creepy techno version of Beethoven in the movie?

  • @ILoveKoolMusicDude It's not Beethoven if you are talking about the intro theme. It is called A clockwork orange theme although the name of the original song is Funeral of Queen Mary II.

  • @azerothblood nah not the intro theme the song that plays when he's in the record store with the two chicks. the intro theme is epic. the whole soundtrack is haha. would you have any idea though?

  • @ILoveKoolMusicDude Not really maybe it's the ode to joy.

  • @ILoveKoolMusicDude Ode to Joy performed by Wendy Carlos. And it's not techno, it's electronic.

  • "It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van"

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!

  • 6 dislikes? Must be a group of vengeful droogs

  • Lovely Ludwig Van!

  • how could people dislike this

  • @titanrugbync They don't drink milk.

  • Beethoven's music is beautiful. It's a shame a lot of people only know it because of "A Clockwork Orange", which, while a masterpiece, really ruins the effect of the music.

  • @hotelmario510 I think it enhances the music

  • @jasonsteel1002 Each to their own.

  • @hotelmario510 That's your opinion.

  • @kurtywurty85 Where did I say it was fact?

  • @hotelmario510 You just kind of it stated it like one

  • @hotelmario510 Yeah? Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man!

  • Oh bliss. Bliss and Heaven. Twas gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh.

  • @linken23 I knew such lovely images.

  • Incidentally, this is the official anthem of the EU. Read into that what you will.

  • GLORIA

  • this song make me mad héhé :D

  • i dunno if this has been mentioned or not, its ludwig von

  • @clockworkbronson Actually if you use the magical thing called a "search engine" (i.e. Google) you will discover that it is, in fact, Ludwig van.

  • @sanguinaryheart ah youre right, funny though, i always thought it was von because i took a class and the professor said it was some sort of german nobility type deal, and he wanted to seem in a higher caste than he was so he added it himself. learn something new all the time, right right?

  • end male circumcision!

  • 6 people are deaf just like Beethoven

  • 6 people had their glazys held open with little metal bits and were forced to watch movies that messed with their golovas.

  • This isn't specifically the clockwork orange version

  • @ezc623 Yes it is....

  • Fuck!!! I disliked by accident!!!

  • Ah, this song is butterfly fields and melted butter slipping off a smokey knife. A knife... into the breast of the palpitating Pamela pernicious of her softness like silt.

  • Is it weird that when i play video games, like call of duty or something, i listen to this while slaughtering the entire enemy team?

  • @teamtagaly1 oh yeah XD

  • Lovely, lovely, Ludwig Van.

  • Every time I hear this symphony, Beethoven isn't the first thing to come to my mind, no... A Clockwork Orange is. That's how powerful the film is. And the same goes for the rest of the music in the OST.

  • It was the next day, brothers, and I had truly done my best, morning and afternoon, to play it their way and sit like a horrorshow co-operative malchick in the chair of torture, while they flashed nasty bits of ultra-violence on the screen.; though not on the soundtrack, my brothers. The only sound being music. Then I noticed in all my pain and sickness what music it was that like cracked and boomed. It was Ludwig van ó 9th symphony, 4th movement.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Turn it OFF! aAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Noooooooooooo Stop damn you! please stop it down there! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uggghhhhh uhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @pkdrums You are trying to get an album which is only sold in Hard copy, no digital, and was made in 1971? Amazon is your only option, that album is a collectable.

  • Sampling this !

  • @tamerswan I've got lots of favs. From Liar Liar to No Country for Old Men. From the ridiculous to the cerebral to the creepy and disturbing. Not sure what all you want to know about me. I'm just a spunky old chick.

  • And the first thing that flashed into my gulliver was that I'd like to have her right down there on the floor with the old in-out, real savage.

  • "STOP IT!! TURN IT OFF!! TURN IT OFF!! PLEASE!! TURN IT OFF!!!"

  • @BTTFMovie Then turn it of by yourself stupid! this classic music is awsome!

  • @iceland3211 I was only quoting the movie. They had Alex locked in a room, and they were blasting this. Because of the Ludovico Treatment, he felt sick whenever he heard it.

  • How is it possible for a mortal man to have this in his brain? He was not of us.

  • Droogies...

  • an snuff it i did my brothers.

  • I do love a bit of Ludwig Van :')

  • Listen to this full blast if you have any yarble's :P

  • Ludwig! Ludwig! Ludwig Van!

  • A horrorshow song for a horrorshow movie. I think that ode to joy is a malenky bit better for this film though.

  • right right right right

  • Hi hi hi there Mr Deltoid...

  • i run around my house naked to this song.

  • Only the mind of a true genius could create music like this.

  • And it was like for a moment, O my brothers, some great bird had flown into the milkbar. And I felt all the malenky little hairs on my plott standing endwise. And the shivers crawling up like slow, malenky lizards and then down again. Because I knew what she sang. It was a bit from the glorious 9th, by Ludwig van.

  • @chameleonardodavinci dont forget to include Anthony Burgess, the author to the Clockwork Orange :)

  • Beethoven's 9th symphony, second movement (this here) is probably the greatest piece of music ever written.

Alex describes it perfectly with his "Oh Bliss! Bliss and heaven" monologue, no need to add anything to that.

I recommend seeking out the recording conducted by "Herbert von Karajan", which in my opinion is the best version of the 9th symphony.

  • Darn. That picture of Beethoven is stuck in my head whenever I listen to this.

  • This is the third movement, not the second movement.

  • " Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! It was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest spun heaven metal. Or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As i slooshied i knew such lovely pictures."

  • @TheAltair4

It is an awesome score, one of my fave movies since i was 14 years old. This is one of the best Science Fiction movies ever and really is an influential masterpiece.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Agreed. This along with 2001 were Kubrick's most influential and misunderstood films.

  • @TheAltair4 I think his most misunderstood film was Eyes Wide Shut... people just didn't get it. at all.

  • @AndreDarkAngel Eyes Wide Shut was another great one that a lot of people seemed to hate. I've always loved it though.

  • @TheAltair4

Clockwork and 2001 are praised but Eyes Wide Shut was misunderstood. Do you also like Full Metal Jacket too?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I adore all of Kubrick's films, even the much maligned Barry Lyndon. He's my all time favorite director, in fact. 2001, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut were all controversial films that got mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike when they were released, but they are all brilliant masterpieces nevertheless. I'm certain that Eyes Wide Shut will one day become just as much of a classic as the rest of his films though.

  • @TheAltair4 i like full metal jacket and the shining alot too

  • @MRec1124 So do i. There will never be another filmmaker quite like Kubrick ever again. I want him back dammit! lol

  • @TheAltair4 2001 was meant to be misunderstood. I mean not understood.

  • @NeverAloneForever I wholeheartedly disagree! The true meaning behind 2001 was meant to be fully interpreted based on whatever philosophical or religious standpoint an individual possesses.

  • @TheAltair4

2001 is his mastepiece and this is his second one. This is a great Sci-fi masterpiece that has influenced many movies over the years and the closet modern children of ACO is Fight Club, Natural Born Killers and Battle Royale.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, but all of Kubrick's films are masterpieces and 2001 and Clockwork Orange are arguably his greatest.

  • @TheAltair4 Paths of Glory.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I thought Battle Royale was more akin to Barry Lyndon. And Natural Born Killers always felt like it was taken out of the Bonnie and Clyde archetype.

  • @TheAltair4 Oddly enough that is what I meant to say. Kind of . . . Of course, your reasoning is somewhat contrary to itself. How can a true meaning be based on WHATEVER philosophical or religeous standpoint an individual possesses.

  • @NeverAloneForever Meaning that not every single person shares exactly the same philosophical or religious viewpoint, so the hidden meanings that are to be found in the film are meant to be interpreted completely differently by each person who sees it based upon their own personal belief system . Some people take away from the film exactly what they bring to it while others are forced to completely re-evaluate everything they've been taught to believe based upon how they interpreted the film.

  • @TheAltair4 Okay, so you meant to say hidden meanings? I guess that makes sense now.

Of course, you just added another thing to this discussion.

"others are forced to completely re-evaluate everything they've been taught to believe based upon how they interpreted the film."

Isn't that just reading into the film?
