not only will this save all us car users from speding millions on gas, but it will also teach the world to be more conservative about water and not take it for granted. this is amazing
there is no logical reason to slow down or or not focus great amounts of funds into this tech. I would much rather have a tank full of water, than a tank full of gas or hydrogen for that matter.
Uhm technicly rainbows are water because they are light refracting through water in the air so we still need this water power just with more advanced capabilities of capturing the water from the air and possibly gold harvesting abilities for when the rainbow is used up and you reach the pot of gold
The water doesn't power the vehicle. Instead, it uses the hydrogen from the water to power the vehicle. Some people just need a little more chemistry instruction. Powering vehicles by hydrogen is not new. Breaking the water down and using the hydrogen from the water is a newer concept.
You have a choice, pay OPEC an ton of money to power combustion engines, or change over to another fuel which we have an unending supply of. Being stupid isn't an option.
yeah. i dont think its the answer to stopping global warming. but its going to be the answer for fossil fuel shortages.
its a good idea but japan and that area are one of the worst for co2 emissions and global warming. so not much praise to them in that area. were so used to doing as we do i think that all the things we are trying to do to prevent iot wont make a large amount of difference because were are in an unfriendly routine. But sweet car. bet it cant go above 30mph tho lol.
Actually, paddystoff, Japan contributes only 4.9% to CO2 emissions. Though this number is quite high, it ranks in at only 6th in the world (U.S.A= 22.4% #1, Canada, Russia, Germany, U.K.) And please don't refer to the Asian countries as "that area". They are individual countries that differ in size, population, and government. And by the way, China and India are at 13th and 14th place for CO2 emissions. I'm not attacking you or anything, just get your facts straight before you make a statement.
The fuel for this car isn't actually water. To take hydrogen from the water you need energy. It breaks water down using a metal hydride or something. The actual fuel would be the metal hydride. You can't have a car that runs on water and the output is water. You could just loop the water vapor back around and have a perpetual energy device. If this were the case this company would be getting way more publicity.
water vapour is a greenhouse gas (along with methane CO2 ect) if we release more water vapour into the air wont it (being a greenhouse gas that holds in infrared radiation from the sun) infact warm the atmosphere?? maybe my logic is off
your logic is terrible. water vapor is not a greenhouse gas... its what clouds are made of, and when it cools it comes back down to earth.. we call this rain OMG! idiot
ok tell me this look how many of the world was filled with fossil fuel and look how many of the world is filled with water you tell me which is better
I don't think this is a good considering because if we use water for driving the car than in ten years we don't have much water to use for other stuff ( drinking, washing clothes). I hope the find a better solution to replace oil.
you miss the part about salt water? you know.. that stuff that makes up 2/3s of this planets surface? between the super-efficiency of it, and the amount we have, we'll have plenty of water, and fuel for thousands of years
We've already screwed up the environment enough with carbon dioxide and our next problem will be that we run out of WATER. It's nice that you might not have to pay high gas prices, but will we really need cars when we're all dead from running out of fresh water to drink?
the US probrobly wont even get these for us anyway, theyre thinking of cutting busses just because we choose to ride them other then driving ourselves

ive seen this in a secret truck 3 months ago. My dad owns a trucking company and my dad shipped 3 forklifts that were powered by water. The future is these cars in unwanted pollution vehicles.
i dont care how ugly that car is, when it hits the states i'm buying it. a few packs of bottled water is still cheaper than the $40 i hve to spend on gas every week.
Water...Duh. Honestly though, I'm sure it works the same as a battery in a regular car. The batt will start the process and then recharge itself when driving. Make sense?
the problem with battery is not much power can be released from it.. unless you wouldn't mind driving a car which goes 30mph Max!,, its great idea i recon but t just wouldn't work.. and THIS IDEA.. we actually had a meeting at leeds uni about it and it has alot of downsides to it..
H2O has a high electron concentration, the electrons are taken from the H molecules, used and then transferred back. It sounds really complicated, but I learned how to hypothetically make on of these in 8th grade, it's really quite simple, the only problem is keeping the converter stable, so that it doesn't blow up from the hydrogen
This has been around for a while. However, it still takes a shitload of energy to make the water suitable for powering the car. His claims about the efficiency are complete BS though, it cant run without being recharged.
Why? Because the oil industry would break down. They don't want that to happen and they got enough money to buy off everyone and anyone attempting that.
I hope the oil companies bury THIS car. We won't last long once water is selling at $100.00 a barrel and corporations begin running cyclone fencing along the shorelines to keep people from 'stealing water'. A scary world, I think.
Hopefully electric cars are still being worked on as well.. so there will at least be a variety and not everyone relying on one source. Because we've seen how things work when there is only one source with the oil companies..
1st, there is plenty of water, as Hydrogen Burns it recreates water, and in worse case scenario your building Desalination plants to convert sea water, which is still cheaper, cleaner than Oil, but most important it make this country energy independent. HHO still has some bugs to work out, but its "doable" its grass roots now and will probably be that way for a while, as many patents exists, but never make it to market.
Why do "experimental" hyrbid cars and now h20 I guess.. always look so ugly? Just make them look "normal" and year by year improve on the design. Instead of trying to take one major "futuristic" leap in design.. its annoying and ugly.
They would have to buy design patents. I'm sure you would charge a lot for your designs. I would charge a lot for my designs too. So we get what we pay for.
Wow. My car takes premium fuel, and only gets 22 mpg.. I drive over 60 miles a day m-f.. I would drive this car to work and my sports car on weekends/local ANYTIME!!!
American government(i get the feeling) will hate this, therefore somehow find some bullshit to tel the media making idiots in America think this will be a bad idea
The News story is misleading. The car uses metal hydrides to chemically extract the hydrogen to power the car. But the metal hydrides are consumed in the process and must be replaced. So the car is fueled by water AND metal hydrides.
Thermodynamics which study of 3 things. 1 heat, 2 pressure, and 3 volume. I do believe that water can be affected/manipulated by all three things... Plus another thing Reuters news agency is not in the habit of reporting BS.
On Reuters website, they have another video of an expert denouncing this very vehicle. They never should have done a report on this in the first place.
people calm down, it's not real. It work on metal in that water, you have to pay for that metal and it uses up. They didn't say everything in this video.
That is so amazing how it can run on water and you dont have to go outside and fill it yourselve. But would the tank freeze in the winter if the water is in there? And would this increase the price of bottle water or anything like that? But I'm for the idea I just don't know if it would affect prices on bottles of water.
They said that any water works, and considering rain water is basically free...I would say people wouldn't need to pay for water for their cars, so bottled water would stay the same( I would think). Though I wonder if they can come out with special water with something added to it that is even more efficient for powering cars(more hydrogen?) then maybe that would could cost extra.
But about the tank freezing is a good question, would need a way to stop that from happening.
Idsids, stfu, i know that it can be any water, Im saying that the WATER we HAVE in BOTTLES that we USE for giving out to disaster victims would grow alittle short or raise the price to filter more and create DUMBASS. I know damn well what the fucking video said.
Of course, and I understand that they explain the method so poorly in this video that it raises more questions than it does solving the solution. Sure it separates electrons but where does it get the energy to do that? Defies law of conservation.I had no problem with what the man said in the comment, in fact I can see what he was saying clearly. I do, however, had a big problem with how he was conveying his point in a very condescending manner, and that's why I went against him.
They will never put this into production because eventually people will be spending less money on gas and therefore oil companies will lose money. The gov't won't let that happen.
If oil consumption goes down, what will they use as an excuse to invade countries in the middle east? "Terrorists"? Oh wait, they're already using that.
Watch Zeitgeist and you will find out what they're real agenda is.
You are an idiot. HHO is the same thing as H2O, the 2 indicates there are 2 hydrogens. But instead you simply put a two H's instead of H2. Next learn that this is impossible, unless it is the splitting of an atom (aka nuclear fission). Educate yourself before you comment that others are wrong.
What's wrong with all of you? This scam has been around for years. You can't burn water, it turns into steam! You can separate the hydrogen from the oxygen and then burn the hydrogen, but what energy did you use to separate the H from the H2O?
Because it's a Japanese man trying to pull the scam you think it's real?
Is every car manufacture in the world subservient to oil companies? If this technology were real auto manufactures would all be working on there own version? They want to sell cars!
I feel as if people are being kind of racist in a way. Whenever a hick from Kansas claims this invention, we all quickly dismiss it as BS (as we should). But now that a Japanese guy is claiming it, he must be right! you know how smart and honest every Japanese person is.
wow do you live in the real world? alt fuel cars have been around forever but auto makers dont want to make them cus they are in bed with the oil companies!!
Curse that. Auto makers, like all businesses, will do whatever they need to get money, and if this new car will get them money, they'll abandon their alliance with oil companies in a second. Well, assuming you're right and there even is a partnership.
I dont know about this though. Sounds a little too good to be true.
You're not listening. The car doesn't "burn" anything. The separation of hydrogen from the oxygen releases electrons. You might consider it a reverse fuel cell. Essentially, it is an electric car.
it's not bs, but they're not telling the whole story. As far as I know, you can't just turn water into hydrogen without using energy. Electrolysis is how we use electricity to convert water into hydrogen, but it's not very efficient or cost effective at this point.
its the way of the future

Though I wonder if they can come out with special water with something added to it that is even more efficient for powering cars(more hydrogen?) then maybe that would could cost extra.
But about the tank freezing is a good question, would need a way to stop that from happening.

Idsids, stfu, i know that it can be any water, Im saying that the WATER we HAVE in BOTTLES that we USE for giving out to disaster victims would grow alittle short or raise the price to filter more and create DUMBASS. I know damn well what the fucking video said.

Electric cars were impractical and vastly inferior to gasoline. Same with ethanol.
commonyoshi 3 years ago
It does not take a degree to understand it. Energy in must be equal to or greater than energy out.
Energy in >= Energy out. You should have learned in first grade that 1+1 must be 2, not 10.

I blame the teachers unions.
They will not buy this kind of crap in Japan -so they bring it here.

Mercer667 3 years ago
THE government?
The American government? German, English, French, Japanese, Korean governments also?
They are all going to give up the billions of dollars of income that a "free energy" vehicle would produce?
What is wrong with you? You are limited by the all powerful them and they, LOL
Good thing Bill Gates never listened to them and they.
James92802 3 years ago
If oil consumption goes down, what will they use as an excuse to invade countries in the middle east? "Terrorists"? Oh wait, they're already using that.
Watch Zeitgeist and you will find out what they're real agenda is.

Isn't there also a water shortage?
jk, great invention, you have saved the world!

James92802 3 years ago
I feel as if people are being kind of racist in a way. Whenever a hick from Kansas claims this invention, we all quickly dismiss it as BS (as we should). But now that a Japanese guy is claiming it, he must be right! you know how smart and honest every Japanese person is.

wow do you live in the real world? alt fuel cars have been around forever but auto makers dont want to make them cus they are in bed with the oil companies!!
open your eyes
zeemzima 3 years ago
Curse that. Auto makers, like all businesses, will do whatever they need to get money, and if this new car will get them money, they'll abandon their alliance with oil companies in a second. Well, assuming you're right and there even is a partnership.
I dont know about this though. Sounds a little too good to be true.
commonyoshi 3 years ago
I think the oilcompanies will survive...
HueyDRevolutionist 3 years ago
In bed? LOL
How is that?
Auto manufacturing profits are all down because of oil prices.
Do auto manufactures make money from selling cars or from selling oil?
"In bed" what does that crap mean?
James92802 3 years ago
You're not listening. The car doesn't "burn" anything. The separation of hydrogen from the oxygen releases electrons. You might consider it a reverse fuel cell. Essentially, it is an electric car.

it's not bs, but they're not telling the whole story. As far as I know, you can't just turn water into hydrogen without using energy. Electrolysis is how we use electricity to convert water into hydrogen, but it's not very efficient or cost effective at this point.
