  • How much do Gopro cost?

  • how can you see where the plane is?

  • TACTICAL MUTE INBOUND!

  • wow this is awesome! I have the same question as below. Did you see this on a screen live?

  • How did you find the camera? Btw, did you have like a screen to see where you were flying?

  • sorry about that plane..... i kept on thinking eject eject!

  • Such a beautiful flight!

  • crash at 1:58

  • That massive building looks a bit like the DC Compound building in London

  • how do u control the plane from that far away and how do you find it

  • That was great. Fortunately I had my PC muted :)

I'm surprised the GoPro didn't rip off from the impact. Lucky you. Good stuff!

  • you lucky the gopro is water proof

  • How did you get the Gopro back?

  • I was bored so I found the place where you were on google earth cool huh? Anyways, it looks like you had to swim pretty far out to get it!

  • nice flying

  • Its like playing battleship haha splash! Miss! Or a pearl harbor reenactment gone wrong

  • $700...?

  • @southforsunshine That's actually quite cheap for an Eratix.

  • @spazman13579 Maybe we're talking about a different E-Flite Eratix, because the one I know of is in stock at Horizon Hobby for $185

  • @VeganTopekan Well, with the batteries, speed control, motor, servos, and receiver I'm guessing it could easily add up to $700. If you get name-brand products, that is.

  • @spazman13579 I'd have trouble building that plane for $700, and to state you crashed a $700 plane as if you lost $700 in the process is plain old misleading, considering 4/5 of that cost is recoverable.

    $175 airframe

$70 Power 25 BL Outrunner Motor, 870 kV

    $85 e-flite 60a pro speed controller

    $80 four hitec micro servos

    $50 futaba micro rx

    $50 battery/etc

Thats $510, all name brand, all brand new. You said $700 is "actually quite cheap for an Eratix" and you're wrong, easy as that.

  • @southforsunshine You're right, I'm guessing he was talking about everything. Some Spektrum receivers can be $120+, he may have been using something like a MaxAmps battery (which are insanely priced), and maybe some other BEC or something. And even possibly some really expensive HiTec digital servos, who knows. My Eratix was around $550 total and I tried to keep the price low by using some off-brand batteries and it was still $500. Maybe he had a GPS on it or an EagleTree setup, who knows.

  • @spazman13579 Unfortunately in Australia every costs a lot more than USA and when I purchased this plane the USD to AUD was about $0.86, so you you can start getting an idea of the cost. Also crash was into Salt water. Destroyed all electronics/servos instantly. Nothing recoverable...... Everything was top shelf. Plane $240 USD shipped to Aus, Mighty Mini MG servo['s ($55 aud each), Hyperion speedy, broad amp batteries ect...

  • COOOL VID BRO! sorry about your crash :(

  • wow that goes high up

  • its not a music its a song fucking idiot...

  • if you took the music off you could have put adds on it....

  • i have a go pro and how did u get it to vid upside down and look like ur right side up?

  • Nothing a few nails wont fix

  • Great video! It's awesome that you swam out there and recovered everything. What a cool life experience captured on video! Now that's what I'm talking about! Nice dude.

  • out of range omg ah no aon noo f**k that another crash with an awesome footage

  • PULL UP! PULL UP! lol man that was good footage thumbs up :)

  • Its so trippy that we can do these things

  • you needed to use royalty? you needed to use no shit music

  • on the bright side it shows how frigin robust and unreal the GoProHero is aha :P

  • dude thats must have suck losing a 700$ rc plane

  • cool vid!...Which video editing software did you use?...I tried using windows movie maker but it doesnt support mp4 files from the gopro hero.

  • @7bikerboy7 all you have to do is download a mp4 codec pack or something like that. I'm terrible with computers but if you do what I did and google how to make mp4 videos work for windows movie maker then you should find what you need to download to make it work. (use the word codec, I have no idea what it means or what it is but yah, codec.) hope this helps.

  • how did you get back your camera ?

  • EJECT EJECT!!!

  • Sorry to see you lost the RC link.

Glad to see the camera floated :-)

    Take care,

  • I know how it feels to write off this plane, I sheared the wing in half on a chain link fence and smashed the fuselage in half! Power setup from it just got installed into my new E-flie Extra 300 which I think is much lighter so will really scream with power 32 .

Had the option to buy another Eratix at the time of replacement but thought I would try something new. Had about 130 flights on it before its death!

  • how did you fint the camera after this?

  • What radio equipment were you using?

  • would you sugest the E-flite Eratix 3D 25 ARF as a good plane for a person wanting to get their first RC plane?

  • @madjosh7 The Eratix is not good for a first rc plane. It is classified as a 3D trainer - you definitely need good flying skills before trying one!

  • @madjosh7 no, not really its extremely maneuverable. Go with the wild hawk and watch some RCPowers vids on Yourube

  • 1 person must have mistaken "dislike" for "dis-i-like"

  • that camera had a serious oh s#$% moment

  • blimey thats some close flying! pity it crashed.

  • ha ha ha gutted

  • What a pain to see the wreck. At least there was no fish inside.

Hope my 'plane' never hits a lake - I'm attached to it. Watch my videos. :D

  • Excellent footage, but +1 on the audio, sorry.

  • great vid

how did you retrieve the plane?

was it floating on the surface?

  • A little duct tape and good as new! :-D

  • 1:30 nice

  • how did you retrieve the plane

  • Countless daring and stunning GoPro videos are edited with the most nightmarish and horrific audio tracks imaginable. How could this be?

  • Was it a radio or engine failure? It realy would srew up my day to lose a RC plane with full FPV setup including the GoPro. Just invest a few more bucks in a failsafe and "return to home" function.

  • You Cant destroy a gopro :D

  • Hello From GoPro!

  • +1 on dietcoke1996's question... what RC system were you using -- it didn't look like you were far from the transmitter when it happened.

  • Seriously, wtf is this music?? It's terrible!

  • @rockwjz agreed

  • it would be so much better without the annoying music..

  • Great footage of the crash from the air to water! GoPro rocks but i'm sorry about your plane. Now, what Tx/ Rx were you using? Were you able to isolate why it lost signal?
