Okay this game looks like fun (though the demo was a glitchy nightmare) but when are we going to get a western rpg that takes place in some land that ISN'T a medieval Europe clone? Fable, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls and more. There are so many cultures in this world with unique and intriguing lore, why is it that these developers of a "new" IP are so hooked on elves, dwarves, and trolls? Its really getting old.

@ubermench3000 The demo part of the game is around 1/20th of entire map and the map contains a lot of biomes and cultures. Faelands, the place you start in and wake up in is pretty much european-based, but yu also move through desert civilization, outlandish crystaline structures of lands converted by unknown race and various ruins and dungeons with influences ranging from indian to aztec.

I've always dreamed of having the job of concept artist for a video game, and despite my initial thoughts this game looks like it's shaping up to be something special. The art design, especially on what monster have been shown and the environments, looks bright and beautiful. I still feel like the world isn't really stretching far in terms of fantasy settings, though; I hope they introduce something that we've never seen before.

Games fraking awesome. Played the demo at least half a dozen times and it just kept waking me want more. The game plays nothing like Skyrim. The combat is much more fun imo. At lvl 4 I was pulling crazy faeblade/chakrams combos. I can't wait to see higher lvls.

Looked really pretty, didn't really enjoy the combat system. Did not capture my intrest in any way. However right now I'm comparing everything to The Witcher 2 and Dark Souls, so I only saw the bad things of the combat. It seems to be a very good fantasy game, but I just hate it how it shortly pauses after every swing during combat.

00:48 haha dude you know how many times all of us have heard that crap? Every developer says that there game isn't generic but yet skyrim is as generic and standard as RPGs get. Mass effect at least tried to do some stuff different. But skryim is a very disappointing game. Don't believe me? Go play morrowind and oblivion and see how far the elder scrolls have sunk. Game is downgraded in almost every area and its just not that fun. Games in general nowadays aren't that fun.

@GlaciusX2 The Reckoning demo has more content and depth than the full Fable 2 and 3 games had put together. Fable is an RPG that promised "everything," but it turned out incredibly linear in every aspect. The combat in this demo alone vastly surpasses Fable's in any way. Yes, it's pretty and shiny, and yes, it's a 3rd player action RPG. But that's really as close as they get together. :]

You can never enchant those swords as good as the unique ones like Chillrend and the ones you get with quests, And the Ebony Blade at it's full potential is surely better than anything you can make, but takes time to upgrade. I also have like 8 different armor sets with me at all times for when I want to sneak or tank or deal damage and unique shields that protect me from dragonfire on expert and other damaging ones, and mehrunes' razor can instantly kill, wabbajack is useful.
