I hear you all rooting for this man i really do. Honestly look at how just plain weird and FAST Bush has changed America. Seriously, are we threatened more by the growing ignorance within or our arrogance as a nation which has been petrifying certain regions rich in natural resources for the last 50 years. Look at his audience. This man reaches out to real people, not special interests and multi-millionaires. I heard him speak in Flint, Michigan, one of the most devastated cities in the country. He gave them such hope. I really hope he wins in November, because he will help restore our country to greatness.

Certainly one can have more confidence in someone who sounds like a thoughtful human being to be a thoughtful human being then in those who pander to the basest prejudices outrightly. Change has to start with conduct but even simply changing how politicians portray themselves appears to me at least to be a huge step.

As someone who lived here in Chicago my whole life, I had the chance to see Obama grow in the last 15 years. When he was in the local papers you always knew someone or some family was being helped. As a White male republican voting Obama this election, I urge others to do the same. We here know him best, and you can't get a more honorable man for President.

This speech sounds like what we want to hear from a candidate now. If elected, we must see to it he follows through with his promises. If he strays and contradicts what he says like so many people in American history have done before, we need to recognize it quickly. Just be vigilant, he may become the most powerful man in the world. And history shows repeatedly that power can corrupt. So just keep your guards up, and don't believe everything they tell you on television.

The president has influencial power over congress and often it is presidential policy that is written into law and passed by congress. Though congress does have the ultimate say you'd be mistaken to think the president has no power by way of influence.

Yes you are correct, however congress is the people, half of congress are representatives of the "people". So the point here is that if the president and the people agree on the same ideas, we can get more done and get what we want. Look at his site! He has gone out of his way to explain himself, and putting information before the people! The problem is news sources and other goofballs, dont want you to know this so they can put a slant on it! Both canidates have sites, read the issues there! You will find what I have, that McCain site spews forth arguments about Obama, and Obama's site talks about the issues regarding America! I am voting for a president that wants a change in America McCain's site is looking for a fight!

Sadly, Obama is taking the Republican-ish appeal to value and emotion that gets people to vote for him. Don't get me wrong, I would never vote for Hillary or McCain, but it is true that he needs to start telling the American people HOW to get to these goals, and not just he wants to get there. I think it would get him a significant amount of extra voters.

How does he plan to do these things? You state he can not because congress "has more control" over the changes he proposes. That isn't exactly true. It isn't going to be easy, but he never said it will be. The President sets the tone. Don't forget also that the Dems are looking to pick up even more seats in congress.
So he can do several things. 1. Get a mandate. 2. Set the Democratic platform. 3. Work across the aisle and within it, gaining what is best from both camps and create change.

Yeah, I liked him at first until I seen his record for gun control laws. Don't like anyone in government that wants to give the government even more power over us. Besides china is probably going to invade someone in my lifetime and we will need every citizen to be armed if that happens and it is us. I'm about tired of politics. But have you taken a look at some of HIS youtube-videos? While obama has several minute-long speeches about what he thinks and who he is and what he would like to do as a pressident, mccain just sticks to tv-ads. Basically all mccain says is: Obama is evil, vote for me!
and I think that just makes obama look much more honest/trustworthy.
