  • I can relate....

    :)

  • The first time I heard this song it hit me like a ton of bricks.

  • Thank you so much for the share. This is a song that my boyfriend and I feel strongly associated with. He lived in Arizona and I in Washington. For nearly a year we had a long distance relationship. Every other weekend he would fly up and stay with me...and John Prine sings the rest.....Gonna be a looong Monday......

John Prine is one of the good ole singer-songwriters that tell stories with his music. He's right in there with Johnny Cash. Great great song, and musician!

  • John Prine is the common mans idol, he tells it like it is everytime

  • thx John for cheering me up this morn after dropping my son back off at college I truly enjoyed the long 3 hr drive home

  • Well it just dont get much better than this. I think this is one John Prine`s greatest masterpieces. Thanks for the bootleg!

  • Mr. Prine always the performer who makes you seem comfortable as if he was in your living room!

  • I also resently discovered JP watching The Marty Stewart Show.I am 58 and can't believe I missed out on him all these years.Too busy with family life I guess.I am now hooked on John Prine and have listened to everything he has on You Tube.I love his lyrics and his guitar picking. It makes me feel good.He is a great talent and hope to see him perform some day. Maybe he'll come down to N.C. sometime.

  • Chills..........

  • Love this man.

  • Great song and beautiful melody!! Like so many Prine songs, it touches my soul. Reminds me of my first and true love. When I first heard it on JP's initial Fair and Square debut tour, it was immediately elevated to one of my favorite JP tunes (I've been to about 40 JP concerts since 1972).

  • @TheGeorgejordan wow! i have only recently discovered this jewel and for the life of me can't remember who/what tipped me off to him(maybe NPR?) where have i been thru his entire career????

  • @sossity57 He has had some coverage on NPR recently. That's probably where you heard of him. But yes, I also recently discovered Prine - just a few months ago. I've already had the privilege of seeing him live. He's awesome.

  • @sossity57 I first saw JP on his initial national tour in 1972; it kicked off at DAR Constitution hall in Wash. DC. At the time he had only his first album recorded (perhaps his best). He played the whole album and cuts from his upcoming album. He wowed me and the entire audience. I turned on the entire Shepherd College campus to him, and have since been to every concert I could go to by him. Thank your lucky stars you've discovered him. Get his albums and try to go see him.

  • This song is wonderful. I heard it somwhere before. It's familiar like that. I'm glad i'm hearing it again.

  • All my life, it ain't got no better than J P.

  • come on America smell the tunes

  • antunes?

  • i dont undetstnad how you can record this...i was at a show like this once in charleston wv, todd snider opened for him. it was inside kinda fancy like..but i was singing at the top of my lungs. good job haha
