This is not Flipnote Studio V2. Flipnote Studio V2 is called Flipnote Memo and will be available in the Nintendo eShop (3DS) sometime in (what's left of) 2011.

you already have the new version. the v2 features were included as advanced tools in the us/europe release. turn them on in the options menu. (the wrench on the title screen.)

this is not v2 its the same as eu and US have wich is v1, all you do is go into the settings and enable the "Advanced Settings" option or somthing like that, then yuo have the extra tools

In Japan an update was released to include the advanced settings features you mentioned. In the original version these were not present. They simply released version 2 in EU/US first time round, rather than giving us an outdated product.

not really. In the original you could set the advanced settings on and hold select in the menu when making a flipnoe

Just had a chat with Alex and it is the Nintendo Zone application. Let's you access locational promo events at places like the train station and McDonalds by flashing and beeping wildly when you are in range. Internet is the same.

There are currently no public plans for a Skype application on DSi.Both Nintendo and Skype have said it's not planned atm so don't hold your breath on it. (although it would be nice if one was made eventually down the line)

I don't know about how long you can make your movies but there are some really long movies with what must be 100's of frames. As for the sounds, I think it's about 5secs for each of the sounds.
