Shouldn't her new velocity (3:29) be -v? Because she is moving in the opposite direction (relative to the 0.15kg ball). So that the velocity has a positive answer. Right?
Even though it does not matter, P_i should be 50.15 kg* 0 m/s and not 50 kg...Even though it doesn't really matter either way, it might give some people the impression that the mass of the snowball doesnt have to be accounted for.
shouldn't you have also taken to account the mass of the ball in the initial momentum calculation (50+.15kg) even though it will end up being multiplied by 0 anyways?
@keybladewielder999 no friction ...he didnt say anything about friction plus how would you deal with friction if you dont even know the coefficient of it? unless you looked it up which wouldnt be of help at all because you cant do that on tests
it was and is too boring

I always like to learn on my own, but the physics book is worse than japanese brail to read. The real problem though is senioritis right now.

dont you divide the 49.85 by -5.25 and get -9.49 as the velocity ? idkk, lol CONFUSED ! but you are a helper (:
BeeezyFBaby23 1 year ago
@BeeezyFBaby23 no look at the equation you divide -5.25 by 49.85 small number over a big number = smaller number
kurozaki45 9 months ago
@BeeezyFBaby23 No, it's the other way around. The equation is this:
-5.25 = 49.85 x Vs
We want to find Vs, right? To isolate it, we need to get the coefficient over to the other side, so we divide -5.25 by 49.85.
Think about it like this...
4 = 2x
How do we find "X"?
We divide both sides by 2, so we get 2 = X, which makes sense because 2 * 2 = 4.

@RE90 the ball AND the skater have a mass of 50kg

@RE90 isnt the combined mass 50kg? in the initial calculation?

Unless they're self-aware robot-guns. Then we're all doomed.

This does not include friction, right?
If the friction between the girl and the ground was greater than .105, then the girl would not accelerate back, right?
