@parkerh305, is your name ItachiZaku??? Alright then. Mind your business. That dude wanted to start shit by saying ND has had only one decent pro in the last 20 years. I simply called him out on it, because it's bullshit. ND has had plenty of great pros. Case in point, Justin tuck.
And may I ask why this was turned into a "how many good players from ND/Miami" discussion??? I simply said that Tim Brown won a Heisman, and Irvin did not. ND beat Miami in '88, which to me was a more important win than Miami's '87 win. That's all I said.
@warrior34able why do you even keep posting comments here? go watch a ND video or something. And how was the ND 88 win more important than the 87 Miami win? They both lead to undefeated national championship teams
Kyle Rudolph, tight end for the Vikings. John Carlson, tight end for the Seahawks. Anthony Fasano, tight end for the dolphins. I guess they don't exist either. smh
@ItachiZaku, yeah because nobody's ever heard of Justin Tuck from the giants, right??? 2-time superbowl champ, dummy. If you even watched football you'd know that name. Jeff Faine is another name. Golden Tate (who will have a breakout season), Michael Floyd who will be the 2nd WR drafted thus year. But you're right. We only had one guy. smh. Dumbass. Think before you speak.
Irvin was not way better than Brown. If we're talking NFL wise, put Brown on the same team as troy aikman and Emmit Smith, and he would have put up the same kind of numbers. College wise, Brown was better. After all he did only win that thing called the HEISMAN TROPHY. But no big deal I guess. smh
@warrior34able You can have your 1 player. I've been sitting here trying to think of other "good" players in the NFL that came out of Notre Dame in the last 20 years but... the only name that is really coming to me is Rocket Ismail, and even he was over shadowed by Pinball Clemons in Toronto. So, you go ahead and live off your one decent pro.
Hahaha what u talking about. All these players can out to be nfl stars and Tim brown is the only player to come out of notre dame. I would be ashamed cus he's a pussy
Haha, these Miami guys are hilarious. Haha, Tim Brown hasn't done nothing. All he did was win the Heisman later that year and go on to have a Hall of Fame-like career. Now let's see, what did those Miami players talking all that trash do in the pros? Haha, nothing! I have mad respect for the Miami teams of the 1980's, but after watching this documentary, their players were annoying.
The U from those days were the dirtiest team i've ever seen. That's what happen when you recruit people out from gangs. What's the percentage of players with a degree, a real degree between those men?
This is the first time watching this clip. Y'all gotta remember, Tim Brown is considered college football's player of that decade, and the Canes did that to him?
Bernie Kosar and Bennie Blades look like they're doing this interview for COKE money. Meanwhile, Tim Brown is sitting in his fucking mansion, eating steak and lobster, waiting to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
tim brown is 10X the football player any of those guys interviewed. I wonder how many of those guys in the interiview other than walsh got a degree? Ohyeah how is miami doing in 2011 so far?
everyone just mad at the U cuz we did shit differant we whooped your ass and then we bragged about and then did it again the next year... we went to 8 championships in 15 years get the fuck out of here if notre dame did that or ohio state there would be fucking statues and mueseums
Its been what, like 30 years? Hellooo..there wasn't a more bragadocious team than Miami back then. You'd think these guys who made lack of sportsmanship their badge of honor would either gain some perspective in 30 years or at least lose the attitude toward opponents who did the silly macho things as 19 year olds that these fools still seem to think is "cool" in their mid forties. Grow up much? They sound like punk teenagers.
If anybody believed any of the words you wasted on this video. They NEVER would have done a 30 for 30 on that team. The reason the U was highlighted is NOT just because of the bravado. They have ties in the NFL to multiple Pro Bowls, Super Bowls, Def POY, etc. That is why they are still relevant, and it is why Notre Dame is not. I saw nothing to be ashamed of in this video. A group of men who was part of one of the greatest teams in College Football history. No shame in that.
@drbayoms Hate to tell you buddy but they did a 30 for 30 film on UM because it is a train wreck. They also did 30 for 30's on Len Bias(OD"d on coke), 2 Escobars(murder, drugs, etc), Tim Richmond(died of AIDS), Jimmy the Greek(died penniless), SMU(death penalty for cheating), Marcus Dupree(never made it in the NFL), Ricky Williams(weird, pot smoker)....its just funny that you think because they did a documentary on Miami that its a GOOD thing. It was an embarrassment to the program. WOW.
You are truly stupid. Most sports documentaries (the interesting ones at least) are controversial. And the Miami Hurricanes are equally controversial. Just as big time sports is controversial. These guys from the U won 5 National Championships and sent to the NFL some of the best athletes over the last 30 years.
These documentaries show the extreme highs and lows of star athletes in a business littered with money and excess.
@drbayoms WOW, you have some thin skin. My comment was about people who think the UM documentary was positive. I did find it interesting...but being a Cane fan, I also found it derogatory and embarrassing. Not really sure how I'm "stupid"? Thats a good one, lol. You are the idiot thinking just because they did a 30 for 30 documentary that it is somehow good? Trust me....it did nothing good for the football program. The program is floundering right now....not much good going on....Grow up buddy.
It's the ebbs and flows of life. They will be fine. They haven't had a recruiter on the level of Butch Davis since he left. The documentaries gave insight into the circumstances that surrounded one of the greatest football programs of all times. It is not always going to be pretty. Big time sports (even college football) will always have its "seedy side". The next 30 for 30 will be "Penn St: From Titles to Tarnish". Grow up and get over yourself. The program will be fine.
@drbayoms Well...since I'm a Cane fan for 30 years I truly hope the program will become relevant again for sure. The Penn St situation is extremely sad...and has little to do with football and everything to do with a cover up of gigantic proportions.....millions of dollars in law suits will follow. You can embrace the Cane documentary? Not sure why you would want to be proud of cheating and unsportsmanlike penalties, etc....but you are entitled to your opinion. Go Canes...win the ACC someday!
@clipobserver OK genius. He played 2 seasons with the Rams. He played in 3 games and ran for 72 yds on 19 carries in his 1st season......2nd season...he played in 8 games rushing for 179 yds on 49 carries and 1 TD......is that "making it in the NFL" ? ......and I'm the Jackass, lol. If you call then MAKING it in the NFL.....then you have problems.....good day!
@clipobserver As I said in my original comment. He never "made it" in the NFL. There is a reason the documentary was called "the best that never was"....grow up buddy.....all caps...really, lol! I played in more college games than he did....and you!
@knightguy11 I didn't said he was a star. He did play in the NFL probably would have played sooner but his knee blew out in the USFL though he could have blew it out at OU or the NFL (then again I doubt the NFL let three year players like they do now). I'm sure you were a good college players but there's a lot of good college players that didn't reach the NFL.
@clipobserver Tell me something I don't know. The real point here is that your comment to me.....calling me a "jackass", because of a comment I made regarding a "30 for 30" documentary regarding Dupree called "the best that never was", was very ignorant. Not really sure what your problem is? Maybe you are a kid of 13? grow up buddy!
@Alteonify Did you watch the documentary? That's the best argument you can come up with?? Were u looking in the mirror when you said "dumbass." I don't know Bernie Kosar personally either, but I wouldn't want him babysitting my kids. Do I have to know Caylee Anthony (and no, I'm not comparing the two before u get excited) to have an opinion on her? Sorry, man, but I don't want some bitter, angry guy who went to a half-ass school working as a HSA.
