I'm such a nerd that I know the original names to the characters in your party - Edgar Figaro, Locke Cole, Sabin Figaro, and Celes Chere. One of the best games ever... although Borderlands is pretty damn good too. @88Hyo the one on the ds is a remake of the real final fantasy 3 which was a nes release only in japan. the reason why is cuz when 2 and 3 came out in america, was already releasing final fantasy 6 on the snes so when it crossed the border they made final fantasy 4 and 6 number 2 and 3 in north america since we were far behind.

That final battle was the most mystifying thing. There was no explanation for what you were fighting, and I didn't even WANT one. I believe it all. I'm fighting Kefka, who has by all means attained the powers of god and satan combined.

J'ai encore la pochette original et c'est bel et bien marqué Final Fantasy III. J'ai aussi l'original Final Fantasy II. On le sait maintenant que le II US était le IV Jap, et que le III US était le VI Jap. Malgré tout, dans le temps on l'ignorait totalement, il n'y avait pas internet dans chaque maison, et nous étions loin du HD.

Dix sept ans plus tard, j'ai encore ces RPG sur mon ordi avec un emulator superness. Mon FF préféré aujourd'hui? Cecil, Kain, la version FFIV JAP en anglais.

It's anoying how the US releases ruin alot of the games, Like how FFVI is FFIII (which is confusing if you are Japanese)

Example 2: Megaman looks very "strange" on the US cartridge (he has a hand holding a gun...)

Example 3: Fire Emblem's (Wii) Protagonist and Antagonist have swords which where reversed on the US release.

JPN Goodguy=SwordA / Badguy=SwordB

US Goodguy=SwordB / Badguy=SwordA

Example 3: Dubs are ..., at least put an option to enable rebudded or original dub <-- Should be LAW

If you were going to give Edgar a pike you should have given him the Dragoon Boots and the Dragon Horn. Then you could give Locke the Genji Glove/Offering combo (I don't care, I think it's awesome) and had the two strongest characters doing a shit-ton of attacks every round. Locke's stats are shit for magic.

And Sabin? Really? Sure Bum Rush is nice, but Ultima is better. Replace him with Terra and you could have been doing two per round (three with Gem Box).

It should have been, but when it was released outside of Japan, it was FF3, because they didn't release FF2, 3, and 5 outside of Japan. If it WAS 6, then everybody would be wondering where FF 3, 4 and 5 were, because FF 4 was released as FF2.

if you can get one of your chars high enough, wearing all the paladin armour, with 2 altima weapons and the 'x fight' option, you can total kefka in 1 round.

I dont like the fact that Kefka doesn't get stronger and the final bosses don't get stronger as you advance your characters. In FF7 they do, and I like that a lot. you just overpower and destroy your opponents so easily, especially with how I would build my guys.

if you can get the "quick" timing correct, you can chain up to almost 16 attacks with cyan and edgar, or chain like 10 ultimas in a row. something like that.

The abilities of your guys are overshadowed though... Sabin, who's your spell caster, doesn't have as high a magic stat than say, Terra. His Blitzes are affected by his Magic stat, so no-go there. Edgar is alright.... Shadow, who has an Ecomonizer, is also overshadowed (no pun intended) by Celes, who also has a higher magic stat.

Cyan, isn't as quick as Locke, nor as powerful. Locke can equip better weapons than Cyan as well. Ultima Weapon + Valiant Knife = Broken.

i have the same party as a bove. but i trained sabin's strength, and put him with the genji glove and offering. he hits 7000 each hit. that's about 56k damage. i use terra as my spell caster, and i put the scimitar on her. i put the atma weapon on edgar, and i put the stunner and gradeus on shadow. this party brang down kefka in a few turns, as i have all the spells.

dude!! all that doesn't matter when all your characters are at lv.99. like i said, i chose them because of their abilities. when everybody is at lv.99, stats don't matter anymore. BTW, your genji glove combo should look something like this.

1. ultima weapon + ultima weapon = OWNAGED!! or

2. ultima weapon + illumina = OWNAGED!! or

3. illumina + illumina = OWNAGED!!

Nobody is at Lv. 99. Terra, Edgar and Celes are around Lv. 50, while Locke is close.

I'm just saying that Celes, Terra, Edgar and Locke surpass them in the tasks you chose thewm to do.

maybe you should level up your guys to lv.99. the whole idea of playing a RPG, is to break it down to the core. lv.99, all magic learned, genji armor, and having ultima weapon or illumina or both. thats major OWNAGED!!! with having all of this is gonna give you an easier time going through magic tower.

Haha, I remember way back realizing the FF3 refrence in FF7, during the end where you find Sephiroth blocking holy. The battle begins similar to when you meet Kefka. And even the 1st form of Kefka sort of looks like the 1st form of Sephiroth.
