OS X was 64 bit ready for the past many mant years already. The new OS X (snow leopard) is 64 bit only... unlike Windows, that have separate installs for 32 and 64bit versions.

The graphic was perhaps the only good thing in Vista. Other than that (it's actually a resource hog itself), there was really no performance improvements overall. For example, the security issue and the crashes are still big problems to Vista. That's why Microsoft started quickly thereafter to develop Windows 7.

I have bought Vista for my not-so-good laptop. It runs great, but I would really like to have an interface like Linux (I dual-booted it before), with the ease of Windows. I like the fact that installing and running programs are simple on Windows, and security and speed is great on Linux. I feel that OS X is a mix between the two which makes it the perfect OS for me.

Actually Vista is eye-candy- AERO doesn't help you cover flow looks cool and actually helps by letting you view stuff without opening a program, although title-bar transparency on Mac would be AWESOME
Are you crazy? Microsoft has with apples mac nothing to do. They will not even their own os correctly. Mac is Unix cored! O mac ist gives no virus, blue screens, minutes of wating starting or shutdown. It looks very good. Coverflow, spotlight. Obe click internet, time maschine. And Vista?
Instead of a screen telling me exactly what the problem is using an error code I can Google to find out exactly what the problem is, I get a screen telling me to restart my computer, with no error. They do, however, find room to tell people how to restart their computer (LOL) in about 5 languages. I got about 50 kernel panics on an iBook in 6 months last year and had no way of finding out what was wrong. Macs are too user-friendly for their own good in my opinion.

Listen 2 u nagging about which one is better... Vista is expensive and buggy, Ubuntu Linux 7.04 is complicated and not that well suited 4 Office and Leopard doesn't work on x86 architecture. Which one is more beautiful: Leopard... But with a few tweeks you can make Ubuntu just as nice!

Linux was released waay before Max Os X. The first Linux Kernel, or Linux operating system, was released in 1991. The first Mac Os X, Cheetah, was released in 2001. The old system, Mac Os, actually existed before Linux, but back then (1984) , you ran programs from floppydisks, and it had no chat system. The first chat programs were released for Unix systems back in the eighties, and Linux had a solid chat system waay before it existed in Mac Os.

I love all the windows fanboys that get on here and go - "Well I still prefer windows". Even though it sucks hard. Vista is a pile of doggy doo doo and Windows XP is so old, my grandmother used it when she was a kid. Face it, Apple sets the trends and Microsoft follows. Yes, Windows gets much better viruses. It also has the worst multimedia for professionals and it just copies everything that Mac does. Vista copies Tiger and Leopard will be copied and ultimately made worse, by Microsoft.

Well, I shouldn't of said that. Vista is a pretty good OS, don't get me wrong. It is very powerful. I have a PC and Mac. I use them for different purposes.

Wow that means you must reproduce really fast: XP came out in '01. Doesn't the fact that an operating system is in use for a while show that it is a good OS? However as soon as you buy a mac, they come out with a new version that you need to go buy.

Listen 2 u nagging about which one is better... Vista is expensive and buggy, Ubuntu Linux 7.04 is complicated and not that well suited 4 Office and Leopard doesn't work on x86 architecture. Which one is more beautiful: Leopard... But with a few tweeks you can make Ubuntu just as nice!

Linux was released waay before Max Os X. The first Linux Kernel, or Linux operating system, was released in 1991. The first Mac Os X, Cheetah, was released in 2001. The old system, Mac Os, actually existed before Linux, but back then (1984) , you ran programs from floppydisks, and it had no chat system. The first chat programs were released for Unix systems back in the eighties, and Linux had a solid chat system waay before it existed in Mac Os.

vista is late, insecuire, slower and less powerful than xp letalone tiger or leopard, incompatable with the 32 bit vista "capable" pc's and over all horribly expensive for such a minor update. other than looks, what are you paying all that $300 for?? and why are their 6 versions?? one leopard that can do all. faster and better and over all, simpler.
