With micro servos built into micro receivers with built in speed controllers and micro brushless i could build my own 4ch slightly bigger and fly 3d in my house, cost me about $50
ok i know its small but still 100$ for this when i can but a larger more detailed powerful featureful stunt plane that i can fly in my back yard any time i want and gives me more battery. im not going to mention the other products in this comment but i would add elevator + bring the price down to AT LEAST 70$ and that's still pushing it. i would probably ditch the rudder and make a 3 channel aileron elevator and throttle plane.that way you get the best performance with least channel
@plantraco srry to rip on this product so bad im just saying this was cool a couple years ago but the market has evolved to offer more attractive products to the consumer
@darkruler528 OK - whatever. Besides dollar value judgements do you have anything valuable or worthwhile to comment on? Comments price like the one's seen below this video are why the other makers produce such crap aircraft. Sadly most of the end users can't tell the difference. I could care less what price we have to charge you - I want to design and manufacture cool products. period. If you want the cheapest go to Wal Mart. Would you believe I know better than anyone?
its been over a year you got to have made improvements in that time. i mean this is really cool but with the rush of micro rc planes coming in you got lots of competition. i would of completely bought this 2 years ago or whenever it came out but in that time i got a micro t-28 micro corsair micro stryker from park zone all top notch build quality and a blue angel jet from venom.
@plantraco Who said being different was wrong? in the end, what your doing with your planes is just awesome. i deffinatly see why its worth the money, it flys great, and nothing else that size would ever compete. im deffiantly gonna get me one.
@BigCountry486 About 7-10 minutes per charge - depends how much throttle you use. This model does like a lot more full throttle than some of our other models such as the classroom fighters, or micro butterfly.
@kenstarh01 Radio range is 100m. Spitfire can fly about 10 minutes on a fresh battery - maybe a little more - depends on throttle and flying style. microflight website has more information
@kenstarh01 Yes, the radio is excellent. But a model of this size is difficult to see at such long range, so most flying is done a lot nearer than that.
@ObYagTxha Yes, this model is very small and quite fast. It needs a larger area than our other micro models. Fly it outside if you like, as long as the wind is low. It's fun to fly a semi-scale profile rc airplane like this 1/72 scale Spitfire.
Great vid loved it. Been on ur website and im gonna get the sky buddy rtf model thanks and is that a good model to learn to fly on? Please get back to me
That's not scale -- that's profile. C'mon, guys. By the way, I've seen that plane fly out at White Pines in Bensenville, IL. Not bad, but not nearly as good as this vid suggests.
@SomeUselessGeek say what? You mean things that fly in Bensenville don't fly very good? Does the pilot have anything to do with it? This is a semi scale profile Spitfire. It's really nice, and the video does not lie, it flies nice!
@plantraco I LOVE how Chiclet®'s are a unit for measurement! I just recently learned about them since coming to the U.S. (from Germany). Awesome! I wish I could "thumbs up!" this post more than one time!
is that a pager motor? and a plastic prop like micro helicopters use on the tailboom?
I hope your company grows huge because once economy of scale kicks in that plane would only cost $5 I'll bet. Then we'll just have to wait for a worth competitor to drive your price down!!!
yeah, but does the plane easily break if the wind blows it into a wall or something? cuz it is sooo damn small, it can't have a powerful enough engine to resist strong winds....i'd be pretty pissed if i used my savings to buy one of these and it broke because of a little crash....
No, you can crash into a wall, and most of the time it will be fine. The prop is about the only thing to break, and we do include one spare prop for you. This one is not really good in high wind - can you see how small it is. What kind of wind would you like to fly in? Check out the 10 inch wingspan MicroRacers if you want to fly in high wind. But that one is a kit. This one is Ready To Fly out of the box. Trimmed and ready to go. It's so small it can't damage itself hardly! Cheers!
BTW - It's more likely to get damaged by someone who picks it up carelessly off the ground trying to help you retrieve it, than in an actual crash. Even then the special foam it's made out of is quite resilient. Check out all our Plantraco videos and you'll see the Micro Butterfly trimming video that shows how durable the airframes are. Anyways, having said all that - all planes can get broken in an instant - if you want to fly - learn to do repairs - it's part of the hobby.
I guarantee you will think it's worth the price once you see it and try it. Many people think a bigger plane is worth more than the smaller one. Compare this 1/72 scale Spitfire to anything close to it's size. It has a 6 inch wingspan. We have sold many, and our customers come back for more of our excellent models. Hope you'll give them a chance in your fleet!
You probably bought a cheap knock-off helicopter and maybe it even had a defective battery. You should be able to get 10min flights and a LOT of good charges with these micro planes. Plantraco is a good plane company if I'm not mistaken, and this plane would probably have a good battery life.
Thanks for the good comment. Hope you check it out. I know it resembles a simple toy glider, but if you want to land in your hand, it helps a lot to have the quality of Plantraco's 900Mhz R/C system on your side.
I think they are about $99.99 which seems like a small plane but a big price, but to be fair it is a RTF model i think you will find, check out there website.
if this was $50 it'd be fine, anything more seems like a real ripoff.

This is extremly overpriced little flyer. I can get a really advanced parkzone micro t 28 with controler for same price.
