@thorsinhow I know how he does it, but I don't play violin so not too sure. I play guitar, and he''s using one of Harmonics technique. Whether it's Natural or Artificial, not sure.
@mrjah603 You're listening to one of Paganini's 24 caprices, how is he NOT a freaking composer? Theres no law that says you cant be a composer if you're a virtuoso... and the condescending tone you used "Please learn the difference" when you're in fact 99% wrong.
@JediMasterZao Not wrong at all, I never said he wasn't a composer. The comment I was replying to intimated that Beethoven and Paganini were equals as musicians, but Beethoven was better because he was deaf.
I managed to play this piece (although notes were off... and it sounded like hell).. and I was sweating all over the place... Heifetz played it like he's playing twinkle twinkle little star....
Who cares how many people dislike this. It's an amazing video and has over 3 million (well-deserved) views. Let's just be glad enough people can appreciate real music.
Side-bar, his technique is phenomenal but strangely accessible... I feel less nervous about my own recitals after watching this

Sometimes when I'm feeling particularly low about the human species in general, I will pull up this video or maybe some mozart and it will knock that $*#@ right out. So inspirational and magnificent. I pity the deaf and those that cannot appreciate music for whatever reason. For shame.
@Turbodtm why pity them? Beethoven was one of the greatest musician's known to man and he was deaf, so don't pity them because some still understand it by watching the way it is played
Awesome. I'd have loved to have seen Paganini play it. They need to make a modern movie about him and the way he made use of his odd appearance and the dark rumors about him to gain audience and fame.
WHEN I WAS FIVE YEARS OLD I COULD PLAY FAR BETTER THAN THIS, I COULD ALSO FLY LIKE SUPERMAN, RIDE IN A SPACESHIP WITH FLASH GORDON, AND FIGHT THE JAPS WITH JOHN WAYNE - DID I MENTION I HAVE A GREAT IMAGINATION?
@khanborat69 I assume that's a bit of, IMO completely justified, hyperbole. but even if you'd posed that question in complete ernest, it wouldn't strike me as any where near preposterous; after all, so far as I know perfection is beyond the reach of mortals . . . and if Heifitz did not, at least upon occasion, exhibit literally flawless technique, then the words "perfect" and "flawless" simply have no meaning.
Heifetz hat so eine Festigkeit, Bestimmtheit, Klarheit in seinem Spiel, wie man sie bei keinem anderen findet. Und dazu noch dieser coole Blick - als würde es ihm ganz leicht fallen. Beneidenswert ^^
