And btw i had these headphones. now i have a JBL bluetooth headphone. And i must say the sounds quality is amazing 4 words ! the bass is very clear hits hard and very deep. and the highs are very clear crisp. The JBL was 70 bucks more xpensive than the AKG'S

Thanks for the question. They are fine, but if you have the AKG K701/2 you cannot use the K271 again. The 701/2 is more natural, more resolving with wider sound stage, especially after 100 hours burn in.

Beware! The AKG K701/2 is very hard to drive properly. They bloom with powerful Amps and DACs. K271 is less demanding.

The AKG K272 HD the same as AKG K271 MKII which is much cheaper with a detachable cable.

They are not the same thing as the AKG K271 MKII. Mine also has the detachable cable. If they were identical. They would not sell this model. This model is an HD (high deff) series.

@ddashk its a SOMEWHAT subjective term, but its more about the intent. if they're designed and marketed aiming for the most precise sound reproduction, they are termed HD.

@mcbobery1234 i what you mean. but the term has avery specific meaning in relation to tv lines. and that is the reason anyone has heard the term. no one used it or slapped it on their products before flat screen tvs came about. so when it is used as a meaningless marketing term like shoving an i in front of a non-apple product i think people who are going to put themselves out there and do reviews of this type of gear should be able to see through it.

@smheywood The 272HDs are the consumer version of the 271mkii with no detachable cable (yours is not detachable as it doesn't have the mini xlr connector) and has more bass response. And HD is just a marketing term.

Kind of sad that neither of them are made in Austria like the original k271.

yeah from what I've heard from a guy who's heard both seems to think that the K272 HD have a more full sound with Dolby 7 or somethin like that.... i honestly don't know exactly what that means, but oh well. they're tight headphones. :) haha
