im looking into getting one. how much do they cost? and do u have to feed them mice? i have a snake. but i dont know anything about these guys. or would they rather have eggs and fruits?
Gorgeous skink. I'm trying to get one myself but the care guides are random at best, sense you've had yours 7 years what would you suggest for proper day and night time/ basking temps?
Well Blue Tongues in general are usually pretty tame. I usually recommend it to beginners as a first pet moreso than the bearded dragon b/c they are much easier to care for and feed. Good luck with your blue tongue!
Your BTS is beautiful. He is so calm and tame. I also have a BTS, just 2 months and is a sweet thing too. I also give him scrambled egg mixed with Collard Greens. He love it and I think is a good way to give him his vegetables. Thanks for sharing.
Well it is good to feed them a variety of foods. Some blue tongues will readily eat insects, however mine refuses to really eat them. You can feed pinky-hopper size mice, scrambled egg, high quality dog food, turkey meat, green beans, carrots, fruits (like melon, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, apple, banana...though not too much banana)...Some even really love the can'o snails made by zoo med. Variety is the key!
My skink Adalon only had scrambled eggs once and while she loved them, I had to leave the windows open for several hours to get the smell she left the next day out :<
this is the tamest reptile I have ever seen!

Stuart is just awesome. He seems like a really chill, well-behaved little dude. :]
It is very evident that you raised him with a lot of love and care. Props to you. :D

@ericbelliard
Too much banana gives them diarrhea and causes bowel problems I think, I only give mine a little slice every once in a while

@ericbelliard Banana is harmful to most things as it contains very high levels of pottasium
