  • @8:49 "Number List of Robots made by Dr. Right." Wow....

  • An A -. I guess I can't argue with that. The Wily stages did seem to not have much creativity in challenge design or any decent boss battles. And damn, Gamma is such a pathetic end boss, probably the worse one in the series. I like the idea of Top Spin being his weakness though (as if your imagination is up to par, you can just see Mega Man kicking the fuck out of Wily several times in the face), but there should have been more challenge to pull it off correctly. Overall though, I love this game

  • Thanks for the walkthrough. You saved me a lot of frustration. I am playing it on Rockman Mega World for the Mega drive.

  • Despite that you use the right weapons on the first Wily boss, here's one that is easier: Mega Buster on the cannon below. Then use Rush Jet and fire at his dome until he dies. Guaranteed flawless victory.

  • @doddi1984 I wouldn't say flawless. I use that strategy all the time, and while it does work, it takes a lot of shots, and you'll usually take damage, or worse, run out of Rush Jet energy. The Shadow Blade strategy Aqua mentions is something I've never even thought of, and it seems to be the quickest way to take this bitch out.

  • Wiley?

  • Megaman 3's Wily Castle is weak and empty, because Keiji Inafune was forced to release the game before it was completed.

  • search snake also works on gamma

  • Awesome walkthrough!! It only took me 20 years but ive finally Beatin MM3!! thanks to this walkthough

  • Is it just me or does the first form of the final boss look abit like Optimus Prime?

  • @Jackthekingsmith its just you

  • ohh yay you get to fight bubbleman in 2 games how fun

  • Let me get this straight, you have to fight all of the Mega Man 3 robot masters TWICE, the Mega Man 2 Robot Masters, and the 6 Dr. Wily bosses. All in this one game!

  • what i hate the most of these was the other 4 sets of mid bosses...

    MM2 bosses @ revenge...OMG...

needle man's stage was horrifying because you have to do

a lot of regaining r.jet's energy...

  • Wait, so Brick Man is actually Protoman?

  • @theif519 yes break man is protoman...

  • "The boss is... a fucken little turtle" LOL

  • haha your commentary is fucking awesome. i haven´t played the game but i kept watching cause of your commentary bro xD

  • At 4:58 I Died so much times trying to get that E Tank! I got like 20 Game Overs!

  • Good review, and I liked the commentary lol. Also, with the triple Mega Man clone, it can be killed in one Top Spin, much like the Gamma/Wily fight XD.

  • 9:23 : "Former assistant to Dr. Right"

    Sheesh. Nice one, Japan.

  • did anyone else notice in the credits about the robots it says Dr. Right?

  • According to the original manual, Proto Man (aka Break Man) is a good guy, who challenges you to battles in order to prepare you for fighting through Wily's Castle and the showdown for Wily himself. This is very ironic, considering that the Wily stages are the easiest so far (and some of the easiest in the entire series). Since Break Man fought you to prepare you, you'd expect the Wily stages to be a lot harder.

  • @ChristianMusician85 I guess Dr. Wily was cheap on his budget for the Skull Castle.

  • Also breakman's eyes are different

  • Gemeni stage is so generous! I just played through the first half and got 7 extra lives!!!

  • i remember that rock monster that guy was really hard it was so hard i threw my wii remote down the toilet ( jk )

  • 00:37

    you meant less punishment right?

  • @QuackerMan45 No, when I said "he takes more punishment," I meant that he can withstand more punishment.

  • ooh ok. sorry for misunderstanding

  • wait, doesnt that make ice man, fire man, guts man, cutman, elecman, and bomb man mega man's brothers too?

  • shadow man is weak against his own weapon, if you fight him on the rematch

  • i found an easy strategy for crash man. DO THE CRASHMAN! Then when he heads your way blast him and get out of the way of his bombs...and himself.

  • i like the music for wily's castle stages 3-4 and the wily battles

  • Here's a tip for getting past the massive pit towards the end of Needle Man's remixed stage. The energy for Rush Jet only drains while you're actually on the jet, but Rush will always stay underneath you, even while you're not on it. Using this, you can continually jump on and off the jet, moving across the whole time, which conserves a LOT of energy and prevents you having to mess around getting the capsules.

  • Yeah definitely. The Wily levels are weak. Too many powerups!

I've played 1 2 3, currently playing 4 and completed 5. I have to say that 3 is the most balanced. Probably the best game!

  • A neat little trick for the clone fight: The first 3 spots the real one is at is top, middle, top. If your fast at firing search snake, you can kill him in no time.

  • lol, dude their tadpoles not sperm.

  • sperm eggs

  • my all time fav mega man game

  • 9:22, "Former assistant to Dr. RIght"?!

  • NES games were infamous for misspellings back in the day. These days, it's hard getting away with a typo.

  • Especially ones made in Japan for their Engrish spellings!

  • This reminds me, on Wily Wars, you can get speed boosts from taking damage while using the Rush Jet.

  • "One more to go, the Needle Stage, and... Holy Shit! Spikes! What a concept for Needle Man." Hehe. Love that comment.

  • the return of the rock monster, except this time its a girl. Once again i think its easier here then on x5 when he's a black blob monster...good review

  • i love these reviews you should definitely wrap up the whole classic series as well as megaman 9

  • about when will you start a review/walkthrough on megaman 4, should we be able to expect it by 2009?

  • Sperm Egg's are actually useful in Mega Man 3. You get alot of 1ups if you destroy them all(I got at least about 7)

  • Needle Cannon is also effective against Flash Man², takes seven hits to bring him down. Great review.

  • You know I just thought, it never made sense to me that you jump higher under water than above ground even though you are a metallic robot. You would think mobility would be nill.

  • at 0:37 you should've said "A gay choice of words there"

  • AH HAH!!! In the top of the final wily boss shoot the snake into the top of it.

  • Search Snake is a loss less effective.

  • A trick to going over that pit around 2:00 is to keep jumping. The rush jet won't deplete it's enegy.

  • "Mecanical Turtle Dispenser" That was great!

  • This game look really fun!

  • notice how gamma has an r on his head. Think that might be because light made him and his name is right in this game?

  • Sorry to get back to you so late, but the "r" looking character on top of Gamma is actually the uppercase greek letter Gamma. It looks more like the upper case as the lower case looks more like a V shape.

  • thanks you telling me i did not know dr right is the japan name i never played the rock man ones only usa ones but you did not need to -2 to me! i did not know ok!

  • dude....look dr light is spelled dr right??? what the fuck?

  • In japan his name is dr light not dr light XD

  • Great review ^_^

MM3 is the only one in the series I ever owned and/or played alot:)

  • I always thought the round thing on the tree at the end was a blue eyeball

  • Do you know whats funny? In the end when they showed megaman's pic they spelled the person who made megaman wrong his name is Dr Light but they put his name as Dr Right.

  • Thats his japan name

  • Here's my theory on why they overloaded the Wily levels with powerups: Maybe they were trying to compensate for the length of the game.

  • Ya know Search Snake works on Wiley also but i guess Top Spin works too and yes it is a shitty weapon when it comes to an every fight use.

  • Yeah, they are both shitty weapons when you think about it... Neither of them are exactly convenient to use.

  • Hey, I love your game review/walkthrough series, although someone already asked this, do you plan on doing walkthroughs for all the NES Megaman games?

oh and agentcak if you want to play MM4 and can find it get the Mega Man A.C it's got 8 of the now 9 main story games

  • COOL

  • ever notice that crashmans color in this game is different than what it was in megaman 2?

  • in the final fight..you can use search snake also, but Top Spin is much better :)

  • I meant the whole ending, not just the music.

  • Personally, not to downplay your decision, Aqualung, i think MM2's ending music is better. But whatever floats your boat.

  • I hope someday you'll do a walkthrough of MM4 I never played that game until I got it as part of the Mega Man Anniversary Collection and I could really use your help on that. I still would like you to do Darkwing Duck being since you did Duck Tales & Rescue Rangers (but that's just me.)

  • It's not just you, a lot of people want me to do that game too lol. It'll come.

  • Oh good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who says that. I look forward to it. Oh by the way my favorite music in MM3 is Shadow Man's stage.

  • hey aqua u should had said something at the end of the vid about megaman's profile lol "assistant of Dr. RIGHT??? who the hell is Dr right.... ohhh they meant Dr. light XD guess they fucked up on the names here too like bimmy and jimmy haha!!!

  • Dr. Right IS Dr. Light...they used the former in Japan and the latter here in the States. It's exactly like Rockman and Mega Man.

  • What is the thing that lands on the tree?

Fantastic walkthrough as always though dude, i'll have to show you an article I saw ages ago about some of the rejected character ideas for Megaman bosses. one of the scrapped names was, and I fucking kid you not, was Black Man!

  • I think it's supposed to be a bird, but it definitely resembles Wily's spaceship. I probably should have gotten a close-up of it. As far as the article you mentioned, I absolutely HAVE to see that.

  • mega man 2 is better :)

  • Yeah, but 3 is GOD compared to 4 and 6.

  • Awesome review/walkthrough. A classic that stands the test of time!!!

  • Great series man, I really enjoyed. It breathes no life into the game and makes me want to play it.

  • Awesome review, Hopefully the next will be Jungle Book on NES.

  • Flawless review, great work.

  • lol XD

  • great review, MM3 is my third favorite in the series.

    I assume you'll do MM4 sometime?

  • Wait...at the end of the game it refers to Dr. Right...I thought it was Dr. Light!

  • Due to the fact that the Japanese sounds for R and L are interchangable, Dr. Light and Dr. Right are the same name over there. When it comes to translating things from Japan, many times they'll swap R's and L's, usually to make the name easier to pronounce (In Yu-Gi-Oh, Marik was originally Malik, for example). So yeah, it is Dr. Light, just that sometimes he's referred to as Dr. Right because of this.

  • I remember the first time I beat this game and I used every single mega man weapon before Top Spin. Pissed me off when I found out that all I had to do was spin a couple of times....

Great review. One of the best on Youtube. Love the comments you make on your reviews.

  • Great review. I never knew you could use the Top Spin on the last boss myself, always used the Search Snakes. I do love the Proto Man theme as well.

  • This is the first time I've seen the NES version of Mega Man III. I've only ever played the Gameboy version of MM III. Aside from a few similarities (mainly a few bosses and a level design and such), I recall it being really different from the NES version by the looks of it.

  • very awesome review Aqua although I'm surprised you didn't mention how the game gets laggy sometimes when there are too many ennemies on the screen. And A-? come on dawg, A+ all the wayz

  • For the boss of the 3rd Wily Stage I've always used the Magnet Missile. It automatically find the real boss.

  • final boss is even easier using rush coil, and it's also vulnerable to search snake.

  • Wily Stage 3 had the best music in this one. The password menu also had good tunes too. Then there's Top Man and Snake Man's levels... so many to pick!

  • Aqualung, you can also defeat Gamma Head Wily by using search snakes. Search Snakes don't mean instant death like the Top Spin, but hey, you can at least beat the game with a less faggy weapon.

  • Haha yeah that's the only other weapon that does any damage but it takes forever cause it does little damage and the only way you can reach it is to fall back down and climb up the hand again.

  • There's something hypnotic about your reviews.

  • Hell yeah! See this is what I love about you lol you not only review it but you also do a walkthrough. Therefore you seperate yourself from all the boring gave reviewers out here on youtube. Bravo man, Bravo.

  • I agree.

I love Aqua's style. I did a review/walkthrough of Bionic Commando Rearmed using Aqua's style of commentary if you wouldn't mind watching it too.

He inspired me to do it.

  • Bravo Aqualung another Amazing review/walkthrough I agree with the ending music I love it so much. Thank you for doing a good job on my favorite Mega Man Game.

  • Mega Man 3 was the NES mega man I could beat.

  • Are you going to review mega man 4?

  • I plan on it.

  • I didn't even catch that bird at the end. What makes you think it hints at Wily's return?

  • If you look closely, it's Wily's spaceship. :)

  • oh and I cant wait for megaman 4 ^_^

  • even though it's really easy....so....nevermind, sorry for all the comments XD

  • great job aqualung I've always avoided that game because I didn't understand it

  • awesome
