online photo sharing has its own place. but If you have so many skills and want to share with others so that the world comes to know about your expertise then eZdia is for you.
I think Youtube should allow photo sharing so if someone wants a bg or icon they can't find or make they could become friends (and with the consent of the other user) and view those photos. The photos could even be saved to be put in videos. I would suggest this in the help forum but i don't have one of those stupid google account things....Google on Youtube...WTF?: [
one of the problems of uploading photos to a site etc is that they are in low res in order to easily upload them. if you ever need to download them again (and by the way sites like Kodak charge u to do that) it is difficult /impossible to get them back to 300 to print them large etc if you want to have a physical picture/
Then use Picasa (by google).. There you can set the settings to upload same resolution. For a small $ you can get huge space and upload all your fotos. It's easy and fun to use.

Wonderful - I have been researching online photo sharing and storage. Is Snapfish okay to use (would value your opinion) or should I try Flickr or Webshots as recommended? Thanks for an excellent, easy2 watch, fun & informative overview.
Hey, I have used Snapfish but only for printing, i was unaware that people used it for photo sharing :P Thanks now I'll take a better look. I think that Flickr is a lot more fun and popular so you are likely to get more feedback.
this sounds good and all but not everyone can afford a digital camera. not everyone can do this stuff so its kinda not all social in a way. plus, my mom had a flickr thing and someone really kept making fun of her photos until she quit. some people are dicks on the internet and i wouldnt reccomend public sharing of photos, i like your videos Btw..
Thank you again for yet another creative and useful video. I have learned a lot in just 3 months and signed up with some of the sites related to your videos. Youtube, TeacherTube, Wikispaces, Twitter, Myspace. After this video I broke down and also signed in to Flickr. Learning from the digital natives all the way.
Well, while picasa and .Mac are great products, they are a different animal, being both local and online. We were hoping to keep it more focused on the online photo sharing tools and sometimes that means focusing in on a specific breed. You're not alone in asking, btw. :)
It's up to each of the services to give you that confidence. Flickr is owned by Yahoo, and I'm sure there is very little chance that Yahoo is going to crash and lose everyone's photos. At least that's my perspective.
On services like Yahoo or Google all the information is kept on several servers, if one server goes down they still have at least 2 more to restore the information. Do you keep all of your files in at least 3 copies? :)
I'm sort of divided in this matter. One one hand I love the concept of being able to quickly organize and tag your photos online. One the other hand I really love the tactility and smell of an old photo album with scribbled notes - something that you'll never be able to reproduce electronically.
Another thing to consider when uploading is the dimensions of your photos. You might have have to crank down the file size and thereby loose a lot of detail from the photos you upload.
I know, but I'm talking about the aesthetics of genuine manual handwriting :) I guess I place beauty above functionality in this matter.
Sure there are some sites out there, allowing you to upload fairly large images. What I'm worried about is this: Can you trust the site? I mean, will you be able to upload high res. photos to that site for the rest of your life? It might shut down at some point and then what? You loose all the effort you've put into tagging and organizing your precious photos?
how about grow some more damn muscle and pick up the books and walk out of your house?

Yeah, they keep your photos really safe.
No they don't. Remember the little incident where private photos on flickr became public for some hours, due to a bug?
I recommend not uploading photos which you would mind some stranger seeing.
There are other ways to backup, like burning them on a cd.
Anyway, there is no other convenient way of sharing a lot of photos with family who is far away :/

Hi Lee, I am Francesco D'Aguanno and I am writing from Italy.
I would like to translate the sound of your videos in my language (Italian), based on dotSUB subtitles.
This would allow me to spread more your videos in my country.
Can I do this without having copyright problems?

Upload it to Picasa. They do a fine job
zcollvee 4 years ago
You don't have scribbled hand-written notes, but you do get clearly legible comments stored with your digital photos.
I suppose storing RAW photos online might be difficult, but I've uploaded lots of high-res JPG photos at 12megapixels with no problems.
