  • cute voice ,she amazes me even after since the first time i saw her in the sugar cubes ,hope i made you feel good Bjork becuse you make me feel good ...

  • This song has always made me want to just throw a ton of shit off of a mountain, To be reminded that life could be so much worse than what it is... And to appreciate those who we love around us.

  • It's official, my favorite way to listen to Bjork is while watching her perform. She's so expressive, beautiful, emotional. It's just perfection.

  • @FNTHOMAS2000: it's been recorded live at London's Royal Opera House... The show may have been beautiful but at any rate the sound was ecstatic

  • no female of her generation touches her greatness

  • Absolutly amazing. Bjork is my #1 favorite female artist.

  • Comment removed

  • She sings the song and any song so sincerely, her voice cracks but you can tell she means every word

  • @shin0bi88 I think her voice cracking is actually part of her style and is used to great emotional effect.

  • so sexy with a truely amazing voice

  • Best Part 2:52

  • bjork is the female version of mike patton. Fuckin genius.

  • she has her own IT department

  • Does anybody know where took place this beautiful show..? perhaps Barcelona, El Liceo..?

  • hátborzongató.csodálatos.

  • zank you :) so sweettttt

  • Holy shit, this is amazing.

  • brilliant

  • i go through all this before you wake up , so i can feel happier. I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH

  • yo this bitch is mad weird

  • Adorar a dios con Björk? jajajaja BJÖRK ES DIOS! hay que adorarla a ella!

  • Wow. That was just beautiful. Amazing.

  • Is it me or is she lip syncing?

  • @matrix2004 It's you.

  • @matrix2004 The video is a bit off. She wouldn't lip sync.....

  • @matrix2004

No. One of the biggest tells with someone lip syncing is that the "s" sound comes through as subtle and not harsh as it is in this video. In the recording studio when tracking the vocals you would use something called a "Pop Shield". This piece of equipment is used because of the limitations in all microphones for "p" sounds and "s" sounds that create a "pop" that is very disrupting in the recording. The second tell is her phrasing. The nuances are subtle but they are there.

  • @The3rdHiltonSister Lol, sure. You do realize Björk has been around and famous for much longer than Gaga, right? Even this live DVD is older than Gaga's career.

  • @AnonimuzZ sigh, so easily trolled

  • @FenderUsa Sigh.

  • @The3rdHiltonSister You just made me laugh with that comment of yours. Gaga's isnt everything. Bjork has been around JUST as a solo artist since like 1990 and was in a band called The Sugar Cubes before that. This DVD was made in 2002 gaga wasnt famouse till late 2008. Gaga is 26, Bjork is 45. Therefore is makes you look like a complete dumb ass for making that comment. And Another thing is that you cant even compare the two. Bjork is Unique. Gaga Is every pop star in a nut shell. BAM

  • Like someone in another video said. There would be no other Bjork in history. We are all very very fortunate to be alive right now listening to her.

  • 8 people were accidentally thrown off a cliff by Bjork.

  • @nintoreo 9 people, coz one of them jumped off when he noticed bjork's amazing outfit

  • <3

  • my favorite song, i love her!!!!

  • Bjork, in my opinion has incredible skills in wrighting, but only about 2 or 3 of her songs sound good. The rest sounds like jumbled malarchy.... sorry guys, thats just how I feel.

  • @plpearl i completly understand, at the begining i liked only who is it and Joga, the rest i almost hated, but then, i started to like hidden place, and then i liked almost every song from her. Now there are only like 2-3 songs i dont like, but it took me almost a year till i get to this...

  • The 8 dislikers are noobs!

  • This is sooo epic. WOW LOVE THE ARRANGEMENT.

  • @timabakulini Fuck you cunt. Bjork drags you and your parents.

  • @timabakulini oh come on dude, don't comment bad things about this song some people like this some people don't.

  • @timabakulini This is in fact music. However, music is subjective, and people wont always like it. But that does not mean it isn't music. Try to understand that before commenting on a song you don't like.

  • Really, I love you Bjork.

  • is this my favorite live in all history... i simply love her!

  • Comment removed

  • just amazing. this just adds to the respect i happily give her. an artist, vocalist, and conceptual genious. her own style is so private and sacred to her, you can see that - and with each song, she lets you in little by little as if she really develops this intimate trust with her audience. purtity...creativity at its essence, and passion that is honest. she just IS the moment. beautiful to watch. i will always enjoy this.

  • i love you!

  • Bjork is an Enigma

  • I love her cute dancing at 4:11....she's makes us all feel childlike again in some weird way....

  • speechless of her beauty and talent/.....i simply love her with all my heart!

  • You know what would be really cool to see on Bjorks concerts ? ... The face expressions of those watching, i really wonder how many of them are smiling, crying, happy, or everything combine....

  • to me, like a few other bands (ex: Tool), i think bjork is in her own genre. incredibly talented.

  • I've forgot her and tonight have been rejoined.

  • So I can feel happier to be safe up here with youuuuuuuu

  • Greatest female artiste ever-awesome

  • *clap clap clap* awesome

  • Our mountain ^^

  • ..la amo..

  • I interpret this song differently (which is the beauty of the song). I see it as she destroys things, and thinks about what would happen if she jumped. She scares herself in order to appreciate her significant that much more. Kind of hard to put in words though

  • @Scrizam35 I agree, I think she's someone who is in an abusive relationship. She is isolated (“at the top of a mountain”), but she is trying to see the positive (“beautiful view”) and her way of coping is to destroy things in the same way as she is slowly being destroyed by her partner. But, although she walks to the edge she is ultimately too scared to go through with jumping and ends up staying in the abusive ground hog day, pretty bleak, but a beautiful version of a great song :)

  • Beautiful; forgot how much I loved hearing her sing - sorry Bjork, hope you're well and happy. x

  • Old Soul in a Beautiful Package

  • high!!!!!

  • ROFL the dress and her dance at 4:11. Beavis and Butthead quote "She's out of her gourd" Amuses me tho and a good song

  • I love Björk and her music...it´s like pure emotions were oozing out of the speakers.

  • Good thing, when a song allows you to have you're own interpretation. (:

everyone connects something different with the words she sings. don't always try to fix the meaning of songs. there's your own meaning of the song. shouldn't that be enough? :D

  • bonita !!

  • love it I do. Music n all !!!!!!

  • her songs r so extraordinary. lik her singing is lik already one song, an the instrumental is already a song, n someone put them togethor n this happened :D

  • Definitly Post's best song, one of Björk's most beautiful ever done...

  • pretty cool wall on the back

  • i love the choir dancing in the back

  • One the best songs of all time in my humble opinion spanning any genre or decade.

  • she looks so cute dancing around.......BJORK IS MAGICAL!!!

  • one could say she's experiencing an existential form of angst. standing on the mountain pushing and exercising the boundaries of human freedom, nothing holding her back, but nothing willing her to actually jump off the mountain. a powerful and beautiful song, maybe we should stop comparing this talented, incredible woman, and embrace her for what she has created.

  • hyper ballad sound

  • ... and imagine what my body would sound like. slamming against those rocks...

  • @babysnakes24 I hope you're joking

  • If Bjork's thoughts and music were a tangible place it would be the most terrifying, confusing, intricate, sorrowful, beautiful, extastic, colorful, euphoric place, that would grab hold of you and fill you with a feeling of such wellbeing that completely consumes you.

  • who's conducting the orchestra by the way? is this thom yorke?

  • to suicide or not to suicide .... Bjork's lyrics actually go "I go through all this before you wake up, so I can be happier to feel safe with you" Sounds like someone who is loving life to me?

  • maximum ART

  • I thought Bjork wrote this song about a friend that committed suicide. It doesn't really matter, we all make our own meanings to songs, but when I heard that I couldn't help but feel differently when I hear this song.

  • Beautiful. There is only one Bjork on earth.

Zaliczam ją do obydwu kategorii. Stanowi klasę sama dla siebie. Pozdrawiam Cie Bjork. dionek128

  • This version is far too happy for a song about contemplating suicide.

  • @jackal242 it doesn't even remotely contemplate suicide. it imagines the worst case scenario to rejoice at being alive

  • @pctification Wow - have you not read the lyrics at all? This is a song 100% about contemplating suidcide. Each day she throws little things off and wonders what her body would sound like crying against the rocks below. She says it in her own words. Try listening to the actual lyrics. It's a song about contemplating suicide. Couldn't be more clear about it.

  • @jackal242 Actually no. She said it a song about getting bored in a relationship.

She does these things to spice things up and to scare her. So when she goes home she can appreciate her partner.

Hence 'I go through all this before you wake up, so I can feel happier to be safe up here with you'.

  • @sneekz07 Again Wow - have you not read the lyrics at all? This is a song 100% about contemplating suicide.

She's wondering what he body would sound like CRASHING against those rocks... and would her eyes be closed or open?

The lyrics couldn't be more clear. This song is about dealing with mental illness and contemplating suicide.

  • @jackal242 "Basically, 'Hyper-ballad' is about having this kind of bag going on and three years have passed and you're not high anymore. You have to make an effort consciously and nature's not helping you anymore. So you wake up early in the morning and you sneak outside and you do something horrible and destructive, break whatever you can find, watch a horrible film, read a bit of William Burroughs, something really gross and come home and be like, 'Hi honey, how are you?'."

  • @jackal242 Is there any mention of suicide there? That was taken from her official website.

It's her song, and she knows why she wrote it. So stop trying to tell her what she is thinking, or the state of her mental health.

  • Wow i did not know that she was that famous. I´m from iceland, but i dont really listen to her music....

  • I always love the way she says 'towards'

  • Fucking incredible.

  • bjork is so "outside the box"... i love her!

  • Fucking amazing!!

  • I love when she dances..so cute lol <3

  • perfect music....an iluminated giel....

  • i love bjork. she looks like a feather duster :D

  • no...Thank YOU! <3

  • @styx3956 ........? How so......?

  • The Royal Opera House DVD is amazing. This performance of Hyperballad is beyond perfect. I don't think I've ever heard anything better live.

  • I love this song, the ending gives me shivers down my spine and down trough my fingertips<3

  • this is my most favorite Bjork era...I would give anything to experience a concert just like this one...heck, just to see her live period.

  • It's a metaphor for the relationship. It's high, on a mountain, with a beautiful view. The reality of watching things fall and crash and envisioning herself falling and crashing makes her feel better about the beautiful, lofty, dream-like life she lives. Better to see it end during a symbolic morning ritual than to see it truly end.

  • Bjork is the best female singer of the world no doubt about it,

  • which concert is this? i'd love to see the complete show

  • @pestarzt Live at the royal opera house

  • @sneekz07 I already found and bought it on Amazon but thanks :D

  • @pestarzt :)

  • I like dancing Bjork :D

  • her voice sounds a little sluggish here. She still makes it work beautifully, but these are just little things you notice when you are a singer yourself

  • I <2 this cOncert!!

  • beautiful ! made me tear

  • I love her:)

  • 別次元

  • i like this live version! haha she's so cute i love how she just dances around the whole time =D

  • 天才だとおもう

  • ..voix et orchestration magnifique ...!!!! une musique qui porteà l'âme..

  • I love how 2 things easily pronounced pretentious when taken separately (Bjork and the London Opera) are the exact opposite when combined. This whole concert feels full of grace, joy, and raw power, but above all, FUN. Hard to do in a space like this. She's the anti-Gaga: you get a rich, immersive experience that isn't slick and manufactured. I.e., she is comfortable letting her choir dance however they like, which is great! The music is the only spectacle; it speaks for itself.

  • @inqueling Thumbs down for such a lousy comment.

  • @inspireradavstatyer Wow, such vehemence for a comment that is 4 months old! Look, I love Gaga AND Bjork, but I realize as well as she does that Gaga sucks the corporate cock and swallows afterward. Look at her comments on Fame Monster: when you become ultra-famous you have to let go of a lot of who you are, and she's fine with that. I love them both, I was just pointing out how completely different they are. Judging by your list of favorites, I doubt you'll believe me, but whatever.

  • @inqueling When you open your mouth, I'll always be doubtful.

  • @inqueling Well, that, AND her dress :P.

  • Amazing!!!!!....Her vocal quirks make her who she is.....And your right they're beautiful.......WOW!!!!

  • I friggin LOVE Bjork... so original... I never thought I'd like her... she touches me

  • I can honestly say i feel Björks live voice is just as good as the recordings chosen to be on her albums!

  • btw i love 3:15 when matmos make the beat more disco-like and she smiles, so free and full of joy:)

  • I think the song is about her finally finding a relationship that puts her soul at peace, and it makes her uneasy because she's never had that before. As a reflex, she's creating internal conflict because that's what's comfortable for her.

  • I think this song is that she might commit suicide, but only afer the other person she refers to is no longer there..

she is appreciating all that she has and that at the same moment imagining what it would be like if she does not have those stuff/no longer needs those stuff

also, she seems to be suggesting that by contemplating suicide, she is appreciating the existing things even more, which is emphasized by the upbeat last verse..

  • @pyschosadist777

Cool interpretation. For me it sounds more like she is living something she is not happy with, so she tries to make herself happier for the other person but deep inside of her she wants to jump of the cliff. It's a great song anyway!

  • i think its your third suggestion ....she goes to the cliff and imagines her own death or frailty , so she can go back and feel safe again with her lover .

  • I think this song is that she might commit suicide, but only afer the other person she refers to is no longer there..

  • ESTA MUJER ES DIOS.

  • for me absolutely the best version of hyperballad and one of my absolutely fav live versions of anything. she enjoys it so much... (really a bit sad when comparing it to voltaic where she really battled)

  • really amazing!

  • I like what she did with the safe again with you.

  • Love it. I only wish this would have been included on the album!

  • i wanna marry her

  • i very much doubt there is anyone in the entire world like her. sadley im too late to sweep her off her feat haha

  • Same :(

  • Noi la Pausini. Loro Bjork. Un motivo ci sarà ben...:D

  • she has some extraordinary composure. despite all of her vocal quirks (which are beautiful) she completely nails this song in front of an audience. very few popular, traditional vocalists can do the same.

  • ...i can feel happier

    to be safe...safe...

  • Lei è speciale.

  • it reminds me of something having trouble with OCD.

  • que cancionnnnnn me encanta la combinacion de distintos instrumentos con sonidos electronicos

  • its early morning now and i feelin like throwing something in my garden, perhaps the pear cider, i should stop listenin

  • God I love her
