  • probably the worst game for tutorials, It doesnt explain once, how to do any of this stuff

  • I feel like and idiot, I had to look up a video on how to start the plane. Then I read your description about this being for realism, and just needing to press i otherwise. I can't tell if I'm the retard or if it's just that the game is badly designed and explains nothing. Cheers anyway, bud!

  • @Jingleboy14 "and idiot". Guess it's just me.

  • How did you get to look around your cockpit so... freely? I'm doing the training and all i have to move about is the Numpad D:

  • @mikusmarthu Track IR

  • I just got the game but haven't got a steam registration code ... pleaseee help me find one !

  • increase the "what"? 1:01

  • @sungmachine Throat :D

    Throttle i guess.

  • hi jimbo.nice vid. in ww2 my grandad flew a spitfire in 603 sqn

  • you think i can run this on my pc?

    I have: GTX 550I, 10GB ram 60GB SSD, core i5 2,9GHZ

  • strart the spits looks like more EASY, than the start up of the 109, starts the 109e its too complicated!! IS NOT RECOMENDAble if you wanna do a quickly take off!!

  • How did you get a mouse pointer in the cockpit? My mouse just does mouse-look with no cursor at all.. This a bug maybe?

  • nice vid jimbo.can u do one for BF109 plz

  • Yes...it's perfectly normal to make 12 lbs of boost on takeoff(Sarcasm).

  • @n7275

Actually, +12 lbs of boost is allowed for short-field take-off and combat but only with fine pitch setting (propeller at high revolutions) and using 100 octane fuel. In a Mark I Spitfire, it'd be somewhere around 2600+ rpm and rising even higher as the aircraft gains speed (requiring propeller pitch to be put into a more coarse pitch, or pulling up to prevent propeller overspeed). Mark II Spifire with constant speed propeller would reach 3000 rpm on standstill. Mixture autorich.

  • Ive got this on xbox 360 but it looks so gd on pc

  • quick question:do you have problems with the aircraft all rolling to the right slightly??ive calibrated my joystick but seems to do it!!!oh love all your videos by the way!!!

  • @sandynathan that would be the torque on take-off or with an increase in rpm, in cruise it shouldnt do it but just trim using ctrl+right arrow

  • So no engine Priming in the sim.

  • I dunno what you're playing with the pitch lever and throttle, though. You're just randomly pushing anywhere between -6 and +12 PSI of manifold pressure (while maintaining rpm <1600 rpm). Is IL-2 COD that badly modeled or are you just screwing up? Somewhing is just don't add up because if you treated a real Merlin like that, it'd definitely be a goner in just a few minutes (at most) due to detonation.

  • The sound modeling sounds absolutely hideous by todays standards. Then again, so was the original (non-modded) sounds of IL-2.

Anyway, this is more like what Spitfire start-up should sound like (with Mk1 and electric starter):

    /watch?v=WsgEiJoBxX0&feature=player_detailpage#t=259s

That's how to model sounds properly.

Even Ultrapack mod for IL-2 1946 got it better than than COD.

  • This looks superb,

What are your system specs ???? cos its smoothhhhh.

    please tell us

  • @smaug3232

Graphics Card 2xATI Radeon HD 5870 crossfire

    Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 1TB

    Memory Corsair XMS3 6GB

    Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 DDR3

    Processor Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz D0 Overclocked to 3.60GHz!

  • Is the engine sounds in this one as crappy as in 1946?

  • Does this game come with a handy 10,000 page manual to explain all this?

  • This game looks absolutly insane, too bad they say its not really finished and its full of bugs...

  • Thanks a lot - I was almost giving it up and then there's that video. Great!

  • it got delayed here in the states, at least on steam, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • @henryisconfused

you can buy the game from Just Flight and download it via steam. You will be able to play it ASAP.

  • So what's going on, last i playes was 1946. Which is the newest, BoB or Cliffs of dover??

  • @PICLex

Cliffs of Dover is the official name of BoB.

  • How do you use the mouse Ive tried everything but cant get it to work?

When I hover over the parts in the cockpit the hand comes on but nothing do you have to press a keyboard command first?

  • Now try doing that with temperature effects enabled.

  • @OriginalHexcaliber

ok, well as you can see from the video i have already done it but as i was loading anyway i did it again, worked just fine.

  • @jimbosmith123 do you know if il-2 1946 has the same realistic controls in the cockpit like in this video ( buttons, nobs, levers ect.) ?

  • "Quick enough. But very untidy!"

  • You should have made the Training missions. The ones in the game seems like made in more than in just hurry, more like " oh shit we forgot, lets just make a fast voiceover for one of the missions"

  • very cool, this game is so complex with full realism

  • srry- this is the startup vid :)

    /watch?v=EOwK8sfFKfU&feature=related

  • Hi, nice Vid!

    Look here-

    /watch?v=_P-7e3RN5_Q
