  • The part at 3:20 is absolutely breathtaking. Man I'm glad I imported Notes on a Dream. :´)

  • Just as good as the original IMO, and that's pretty hard to do without just copying the exact notes from the song itself.

  • Am i the only one knowing this is a dream tehater song?

And Rudess is in dream tehater?

  • @SilentXStarcraft No... This song appeared in Dream Theater's album: "Awake"

  • playing fast has feeling YOU just cant feel it.

  • Alot of peple say he has no feeling and too much speed notes etc, bla bla... All Dream Theater's keyboard players were a good fit, period!!

  • Good lord. He has three hands....all of them musical geniuses....

  • @WhiteDragon103 this is actually Dream Theater's music. He is just playing pretty much all the parts on piano. He didn't even make this. What are some of his old things you like, I'm interested.

  • @VHDT10 I presumed this was his older "classical" phase music, but even if I'm wrong on when he did what, if I had to give criticism I'd say this: I think that while Rudess has incredible technique, speed and accuracy with his fingers, in some songs, that's more or less all it is: Pressing a million keys a second without making any mistakes. While this is excellent athleticism it isn't necessarily excellent composition or emotional expression. Other artists can press a few keys and make you cry.

  • @WhiteDragon103 This is what's funny about that; You would completely have all respect for someone who played a song half as difficult if they did it right. Think about that and get back to me. People are very bias against musicians that take it to the next level. What I mean is that he would destroy Motzart and you know it. Yet we have billions of people respecting him and not jordan. Do what's right......

  • @VHDT10 I understand that, but playing lots of notes rapidly doesn't make a song better. It doesn't communicate anything meaningful to just press a million keys a second without making mistakes. It's like being a typist vs. being a poet. A poet may suck at writing or typing but might create brilliant yet simplistic expression, and a typist might be able to type 200 words per minute but produce meaningless literature. TBH, I'm not a fan of Bach for a similar reason. I don't relate with theirsongs

  • @WhiteDragon103 I get what you mean, but this is comparing two musicians and you are not liking something because he's good at it. A fast player always has the chops to play a slow song fast or slow. A slow player cannot play fast though. I guarantee Jordan could play the other softer and slower songs better than the people who play them. Dream Theater is made of musicians that pay very much attention to the melodic side of music as well as the technical. Many musicians only focus on speed

  • @VHDT10 i have to disagree with the fact that a fast player can play slow stuff if he wants to, i'd like to see derek roddy or kollias play steve gadds stuff...

  • @abhimuscat Steve Gadd is fast he can do both that's why he sounds good with slower things. His mind is going faster than the others minds. They can probably play his beats slower. And then they'd have to get faster and faster until they could play it. I think it's really just the way it is. I believe note selection makes a player good though. I don't really like a lot of fast musicians but when used properly it's great. Just my opinion, I know what you mean.

  • @VHDT10 yeah your right, but i was mainly referring to the super subtle things he plays like with paintbrushes

  • Watch Out [ Goose Bump Alert ] ahahha no kiddin These Vibes Are Something People Should Wake Up to :0

  • When a Musician with this much talent and passion is around today how are people so deluded to class mainstream music as 'good' when we have people who clearly do it for the love and feeling of playing rather than the money. i for one have never fallen for the trap that is mainstream music, we need to bring this back into popularity so people can see how much it takes to do this and how pure and rich the music is.

  • Hi, Heavy Metal fan here but this is sth I really gonna save in my Other Music Playlist, love piano.

  • @RockTheOcean4me Chilling here.This is nice.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @RockTheOcean4me I think its awesome to have an appreciation for different genres of music.

  • @tacysassy

    Miss grouchy :-D

My oldest sister was/is great, know a lot of classical music by that.

Often sat next to her listening.

  • @RockTheOcean4me Is it 4 yet?

    Wish I had a sister :-)

  • My god, me and my girlfriend have been listening to his work for the past bit. We both have nothign but appreciation for this man. I can't believe how much talent he has...Time to shoot for the stars! Time to get as good as him!!!

  • Man, i'm safe to say that I am decent at piano/keyboards. I've been playing for 10 years. and I still believe that Rudess can kick my ass at piano just with his left hand.

Rudess is truly an amazing musician. :_

  • @TheDistanceBetween Shit dude. You have like 10 years on me. I just started, but damnit! I'm going to make it! You can to dude! Dooooo it! =D

  • Jordan Amadeus Mozart Rudess

  • @josediaz969 Yes my friend, but Jordan got also "spider fingers"! ^_^

  • I dont think you have to be as succesfull as Ruddes to play like this or anything,You dont even need classes,You just need creativity and practice cuz its not impossible to get that far,you just need good motivation and influences

  • @josediaz969 what? you don't know what you are talking about, you clearly have no idea about the technique behind someone playing the piano like this.

  • @josediaz969 You DO need classes to reach that level. You can be pretty good without classes, but you can't get to Jordan's level without any kind of classes.

  • 2:36 my favourite part

  • @miguelcob and mine 3:20 ! Can't stop the tears at that part...

  • the intro reminds me of wonderful tonight :)) great song overall 5/5

  • What's the right album then?? I LOVE this song... He's not from this planet!!

  • The right album would be " Notes on a dream "

  • Thank you, friend :)
