I dont see how this is Allstate Fault. U should read what you buy. Thats what is wrong w/Americans; we can read a text message, facebook, whats on an IPOD or IPAD but cant read a policy that you purchase to make sure your covered right. Instead of blaming Allstate. READ!
99.9% of claims are paid timely, accurately, and probably at a higher than needed payout for insurance claims. The .1% of unsatisfied customers are the ones that make the news 'headlines'. If insurers pay out an average of 73% of every dollar in claims, and they still have to pay their overhead, salaires, utilities, and advertising, what makes people think that they are making any more 'money' than Apple, CocaCola, or anyone else? If you don't like it, DONT BUY IT! It's always YOUR Choice.
The problem is not with the agent or the company, the problem is with the Nostradamuses of insurance (the homeowners) who dictate to the insurance industry how much they will or won't insure their homes to. I lose business WEEKLY because people think my replacement cost figures are too high. Clearly CBS has 3rd graders for producers, as any 5th grader would've called at least 1 agent to get an industry response, and then actually included it in their report instead of omitting it.
This story was INCREDIBLY IGNORANT. As an insurance agent myself for 10+ yrs, I can tell you it's like pulling teeth to get folks to insure their homes to its true RC. These same folks call me every year at renewal & threaten to leave because their coverage increased by 4% to offset inflation! I'm just sayin - They're already getting 150% of the coverage levels they actually paid for. Only in America man, only in America.
@sweeneysister lol how big was the claim? allstate screwed me out of thirty grand . They suck and are rated number one for complaints and bad faith practice!
@letseeit7 The first was a sewer that backed up for (and yes, I had to look it up) $14 832 and the second was when a tree in my yard blew over and took down my fence and patio. I was given new bar b q! What went wrong with your claim then?
