Firstly, this software needs a real EQ that can be adjusted, as it disables the one built in to the realtek drivers. Secondly, I don't use a subwoofer channel with my system, as I have duel 15 inch subs in my bi amped front channels. There needs to be an option to disable the sub channel, as you could do in the realtek drivers also.
I finally managed to get SRS Audio Essentials set-up and working on my roomie's Windows 7 machine (I eventually plan to make the move from XP), and it works beautifully, -BUT- something I noticed is it seems to disable the Realtek card's equalizer. Moving the sliders in the Realtek EQ makes zero affect on the sound. When I was using Audio Sandbox on XP, I could use both the WoW and the Realtek Equalizer to tweak the sound... I wanna be able to use -both- again.
If it isn't possible to fix SRS Audio Essentials so that it doesn't disable my soundcard's built in Equalizer, then perhaps maybe the people who design this program should consider giving it its own 10 or 15 band equalizer. Yes, I can just deal with it, or turn bass up in Winamp's EQ but that won't effect -all- my audio output, like games and stuff... the problem seems to be that in order to have SRS Audio work, I have to set it to take over the Realtek HD Audio Output.
Adjusting the audio with just SRS A.E. on its own doesn't compare to being able to adjust the audio with -both- the sound card's EQ and SRS. On my XP machine (which I plan to upgrade to 7), I can give the bass and treble that extra tweak I need to be satisfied along with the SRS... so please, consider giving this thing an EQ. It could go right under the WoW HD sliders.
Trying SRS now with games like Total War: Shogun2 and some FPS games, I hope it's as good as it's with listening to music ^^ Btw check my channel for Shogun2, Halo2 PC and America's Army 3 commentaries if you're into those games =)
I bought the Full Version of Audio Essentials and I'm very happy =) Being such a trance music lover I find this software really makes the difference! The music clarity is amazing and gotta love the trubass thingy ^^ My current settings are music/speakers and default values in the equalizer is 6 8 6 5 2 4 from left to right. Not using Truvolume right now. This all is actually using headphones. Try it folks, it's worth it! :P
@zelki1987 you know when you're watching a movie, theres sounds coming from different sources, people speaking and music playing in the background....truvolume makes sure that all those sounds are at the same level, because sometimes the volume of the voices are not loud enough behind the music playing. hope you understand what i'm saying :)
