  • StarCraft is probably the hardest game ever made, and requires more strategy and precision than chess, go, etc.

"Internet gaming isn't as big as say football or baseball here" [wrong]

    He's comparing apples and oranges.

4,500,000 out of 304,059,724 watch American football, less for baseball, and a lot less people actually play.

He says, "about 18 million South Koreans play internet games. That's 1/3 of the country" He fails to mention how many actually watch, in Korea and abroad. Rushed report

  • The game didn't look very technologically advance but maybe its fun when you play? ii dunno.

1/3 of the country play online games. Thats CRAZY.

  • lol crt monitors

  • I thought games were supposed to be fun. this doesnt look very fun

  • Oh It's fun, I used ot be addicted to it LOL

  • bunch of lames,

    I love video games

but this is a little much

  • Awesome. :D

  • Lol wow....

  • For all you curmudgeons who so alarmed by this, what is the big deal? These people are just taking out some time from their hectic lives to do something very human: to have fun.

The average Korean is very educated and works long and hard hours and is among the most productive workers in the world. Give them their time to have fun with videos. They've earned it.

  • ar, good for them..for now, and soon they will find themselves losing out becos new games is on the way.

  • The game is ten years old, if it went away, it would have went away long ago.

  • diablo 3 is coming, i wonder.. XD!!!

  • its been over 10 years since starcraft came out.

so please dont comment if you dont know.

  • keep in mind, no games can be popular forever and i was just saying.

    don be arrogant =]

  • i'm arrogant?

you're the one who diminished the game without ANY knowledge about it.

so no. please don't be "just saying" next time.

  • never did i mentioned "STARCRAFT", u are putting words into my mouth, all i am "just saying" in which applies to cs,diablo or any other games.

if u are a devoted fan of SC, good for u, please, and once again, don be arrogant.

  • gee, you are commenting on a video that ONLY talks about STARCRAFT and its impact on South Korea.

  • ar.. hello, look at the heading, does it mentioned SC? then look at the description, does it mentioned SC? the video doesnt even mentioned SC.

    please read before commenting.

  • the video DOES mention starcraft, and doesn't mention any other game. It starts off at a Starcraft final and ends up interviewing a starcraft player. are you deaf/blind?

soo, how about WATCHING the video itself and not just reading the heading + description next time?

  • ok, it did mentioned once in the vid, watched it a few days back cant recall everything it was said, fyi, SC was not visually SHOWN in words. The vid also emphasis on ESPORTS, once again, listen carefully and read the comment carefully.

  • I apologize to you if u felt my first post was harsh, but when u said"so please dont comment if you dont know. " i find it rather offensive as well, when i was merely making a generalize comment about online gaming.

  • Alright, I'm gonna calm down now. This isn't something to argue too much about. New games come out all the time, and its hard to keep up with a single Esport although Starcraft is the exception.

Sorry for making it such a big deal. I'll stop now.

  • yeh me too, sry for all the hassle, just got a little excited for diablo3..

have a good day ahead =].

    suki

  • you too man.

    ^_^

  • What sport? It's not even good for your health and mind.

  • 0:32

Interesting to note that although they play 8 hours a day, they still maintain their slender body types (unlike their Western counterparts).

  • Good point.

  • Lol body weight doesn't indicate health. If you sit around for 8 hours a day, even if you don't gain weight you will still be really out of shape and in poor health. Regular physical exercise is needed for everyone to stay healthy, regardless of weight or body size.

  • These progaming teams are actually well organised and make sure their members work out a few times per week. Their mental health is also closely monitored.

  • Most Korean progamers are more fit than the average person, since a lot of them excercise daily and eat healthy.

  • You're wrong there mate.

  • Uh, No.

  • Lot of ppl who do a lot of physical exercise have lower life expectancy. Check the ppl who live over 100, they all lived normal lifestyles, they are not exercise freaks.. go figure.

  • lol but that doesn't excuse sitting around like a fatass, which was what I was talking about. Everyone needs some exercise, regardless of how you get it. Grats on bad though.

  • DAM!
