@VBaskin2010 I've been loyal follower of hip-hop for A LONG TIME. (since I was about 7 years old.) This beat is in my top 5 ALL TIME and the funny thing about it is that it wasn't done by any pioneering hip-hop producers like Preemo, Pete Rock or even the ultimate pioneer himself Marley Marl.
I think the beat was done by KRS and his brother Kenny Parker but I'm not sure.
@VBaskin2010 It could very well be, D-Nice could of had some input in it also. I first heard the beat when I was about 8 years old and it froze me in my tracks!
@endgammer The outfits were made from MCM print leather fabric... probably custom made but Im sure someone can make it now... Surprisingly the MCM purses are back in style also
I always thought this track was about Malcolm X when I bought Ghetto Music. I didn't see I.G.G.Y.S 'til a couple of years later. Fucking great song though, whatever.
@Originalman320 No, I strongly beg to differ- Damon himself would eagerly agree- Keenan is the comedic genius of the family- he produced In Living Color, as well as Eddie Murphy's Raw- without him, there would be no Wayans bros. Have you seen Hollywood Shuffle?
@Originalman320 This is the common misperception- Damon received the accolades, but Keenan was the man- Frenchy, Head Detective, Black Like You (Tom Brothers)- he was the central figure
@ElConquistadorNo1 Yes. The behind the scenes man is normally the brains. I never disagreed with you on that. Though the point about "there would be no Wayans Bros" is not lost on me. I wish there were no Wayans Bros. Shawn and Marlon were never funny to me, not like their older brothers.
Crack of spades.... Yo crackheads keep believing in lies..Just like america killed the indians and stole their land krs1 was a homeless crackhead that would have done anything for a scruptious cupcake..
@emzzdad Get a life and a clue. Europeans commited genocide against the indigenous people of this land. Are you trying to deny it?
You just don't have the intellectual capacity to understand a culture which is different from yours. I'm referring to hip hop. You should devote your energy dealing with your issues of self inadequacy. It's a plague which is destroying the white male community and causing them to be despised by everybody else.
@emzzdad Even if he was a crackhead he isnt one anymore he rose up beat his demons.I dont see your video gettin mad hits and everybody heard of BDP and I never heard of emzzdad......Jealousy maybe????
"So it's all 57 of you punks against me Kung Fu Joe!" You can got out the window or take the stairs. The Soul Train Line. I loved this flick, video and Ghetto Music.
@realhiphopfromhollan Damn right it is. In fact, over in Holland,Japan, and other European countries certain cats younger than me happen to know more about the Hip Hop culture more than Black and Hispanic youngsters in NYC.
@busdrivamain1 I agree with you 100%. If you go to any part of Europe,Australia,Japan,or South Korea, there're just about many youngsters who happen to know more about the Hip Hop culture more than Black and Hispanic youngsters in NYC.
Ghostface used this sample in LaChurchez Ghost track of his. "Oh, Ghostface! Ghostface!" Just listen to the beat from Ghostface's track. I used to think that these were the baddest jackets ever made. I wanted a B.D.P. jacket so bad! I would've been the coolest motherfucker in junior high. LOL People be like..."This motherfucker got a B.D.P. jacket, How'd you get that?!?" LOL
I don't know what you heard, but both songs can be easily distinguished. They're different. At least to my ears. or maybe you hear a similarity I can't. Peace be.
Just so everyone knows, this song has been confirmed in the new DJ Hero game from Activison. It will be in a mash-up with David Bowie's "Let's Dance".
No. The sample for Cher Chez La Ghost is from "Cher chez La Femme" by Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band. You can find it here on Youtube and see just how much of that song he sampled.
