@solarflare4646 Dude I'm pretrty sure you mean "Time Signature" instead of tempo, they'll probably change tempo as well. But the main characteristic of Math-Rock is alternating Time-Signatures. :D

@StJimmytheThird I don't really want to start a genre argument, but Math-Rock is a very subjective music genre. Some people see it as just alternating tempos, some as time signatures, some as just angular sounding. In quite a lot of circles Foals are considered Math-Rock, even though they hardly ever leave 3/4 or 4/4. The main characteristic of Math-Rock is just that there's a greater focus on rhythm over normal Pop and Rock music.

"emo shit" = little kids (with dyed blonde or black hair) slashiong their own wrists

Colour = Good / (Happy) music

if you're not satisfied with my opinion either listen to more of their music to find that it is not "emo shit" or go listen to something else. I don't care which.

Emo is a misnomer for some types of present post hardcore bands and the emo that this guy is talking about is a completely different than what you are thinking about. So even though I disagree with him, he is still smarter than you.
