why is he good?? anyone can put a million notes into a fill. doesnt suit the music at all. his groove is the same the whole way through. ruins the song.
That is the whole point of drumming. To keep the music flowing. The drums is what holds the song up. While he is doing "the same groove" he does amazing fills. I would like to see you ATTEMPT to do a cover for this song.
I agree that squeezing at many notes as possible into a fill is less than impressive. Not musical at all. But when it comes to keeping the same groove throughout, its a good thing. It shows constitancy.
