  • The early LP's with Robin Trower Rocked !

  • smokin'

  • these guys never got their due....they were outrageous with Keith writing lyrics and sitting somewhere in the audience watching his band sing his words.....loco.

  • full of hatred for muslims. low cultured people never respect other religions.

  • A smash hit on Radio Tehran, I'll bet.

  • Man I miss the 70's, this crap they play today SUCKS!!!

  • ...Kick ass' Blues...!!

  • Robin, git it

  • Git it, Robin

  • Keith Reid....what a twisto!…bacon on his head

  • ROBIN!!

  • robin trower is singing and playing guitar

  • Who the fuck is singing here? And Geoff wasnt in the band, broken barricades was with Dave Ball on guitars, great guitarist(today is an IBM manager, ahahah)

  • @GabrielDhalaman2 ..........Robin Trower on guitar...

  • Exellent Track!!...The Album(Broken Barricades) is easily available now folks on re-issue....at long last!! Great!!!

  • Great song !always was & always will be Btw, my Acme fatwah arrived today .....yay.

  • Its a miracle they are still alive after doing this backi in 1971. Obviously those al-Qaida fellows haven't yet heard this....

  • @SonyT250 It's a wonder we didn't have the balls to take out al-Qaida back in the sixty's! This shit did not start in 2001. Look up Loudon Wainwright "Hard Day on the Planet"

  • @1olefu Comments sections are often outrageously stupid but ones like this one are why I keep plugging along. I had never heard of Hard Day on the Planet.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Are they putting down Muslims in this song, way back when?? 1971??? How come?? I love the band, especially Trower, but why is this?? Poor Procol Harum..

  • @tonkamine al-Qaida was high jacking air planes and blowing them up back in the 60's check out loudon wainwright "hard day on the planet"

  • @tonkamine You have to learn to read between the lines.

  • @tonkamine the lyricist keith reid is jewish

  • hahahahaha. awesome.

  • WHAT THIS SONG MEAN????????

  • @Kinkygreeny LIKE WHITER SHADE OF PALE , REID WOULD PUT PHRASES TOGETHER THAT HE THOUGHT SOUNDED GOOD WITHOUT THOUGHT TO WHETHER THEY MEANT ANYTHING AT ALL . HE LIKED THE WAY THEY SOUNDED

  • Great Song ! My album is too worn out to play it.

  • @pknpqdm don't feel bad. mine was on 8-track

  • I think ALL Procol albums have some merit, with or without Trower. Always loved the organ sounds.

    TONY D

  • Captainsoul doesn't know squat! ALL Harum albums until Exotic Birds and Fruit are excellent.....It wasn't until Birds and Fruit that Procol couldn't get more than two songs on an album that were any good. Procol's Ninth is probably the worst of all

  • @CaptainPrivate Try The Prodigal Stranger'CD 1991...It's Bloody Awsome...!!

  • Barricades is my least favourite Procol album...Robin overpowers it...i love his solo albums but half this album doesnt even sound like them..IMHO

  • I liked piano led songs on Broken Barricades, including the title track and Luskus Delph, I used to play this album after school and smoke pot then worry about the homework later. My favorite PH song is Salty Dog,

I agree with you on the RT solo albums though, they were great,

  • @ouzo6000 Luskus Delph, I'd like to hear that again.

  • Ok, I'm thinking "Peace Train" Cat Stevens AKA Yusef Islam, or radical Islamicists in general, could be prepared to murder Procul Harum! I mean the lyrics! Ha! "Put Mohammed in the cellar....tie some bacon on his beard and let some rats out on him there." Ya think?

  • @skidancin Wow. I didnt understand the analogy back at that time but revisiting the lyrics today as you provided the anti I slam theme is plain to see. I got especially hung up on the lyrics on their HOME album, because I was reading a lot of Edgar Alan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft in my spare time.

  • Too bad there are no pictures of Trower in the video, since he wrote the song and is even singing it. Nice pix, though.

  • Broken Barricades was my favorite PH

album of them all too bad its impossible

    to find now.

  • Actually it has recently been re-released in a special "40th Anniversary" format, complete with bonus tracks.

  • Thanks for the info. I will look for it this week.

  • @ouzo6000

HI! Now you can buy Broken Barricades from amazon, for instance.

    Ciao

    Fer

  • This tune ROCKS!!! You just don't hear it enough any more. I feel Broken Barricades is the breakthrough album for Robin Trower, just listen to him here....giving us all a taste of guitar genius to come. Thanks for rockin my socks off, great post.

  • of course you know: That's not Trower in these stage pic's....

  • I didn't mean that was RT in the stage pics, I was commenting on how the sound of RT's guitar had changed, for example from the way he played on "A Whiter Shade of Pale" to the grittier "Poor Mohammed". Procol Harum's sound did change with Robin's evolvement, it was RT's growth & love of the blues that caused him to leave Procol Harum after the "Broken Barricades" album & go off on his own.....with stellar results.

  • dziękuję bardzo

  • Suuuuuuuuuper !!!!!!

    Klasa sama w sobie .

    Brawo !!!!!! :)

Takiego brzmienia już się nie usłyszy w obecnych zespołach . A szkoda .
