  • Great vid! Still glad I subscribed.

Doesn't surprise me to see 0 dislikes ;)

  • what is the cost of your setup to this point? Thanks for posting the good vid!

  • Hey Kevin, I enjoyed your video, i have been working on my solar system for about 2 months. One mont of reseach and one month of designing and constructing the project. I will soon be posting my system on youtube.. Your video has been a big help! Keep up the good work...

  • Are those 2 turbo charges lol...awesome, my 2 hobbies are cars and solar/wind energy. I have a 620whp Mustang that gets 10.5mpg but I create my own power so I'm trying to balance with the environment lol Thanks for the posts!

  • how much do u pay on a 100 watts panels?

  • I need to get another charge controller or a bigger one because like he said, you will add more solar later on down the line. When I started, I thought 30-35amps would be plenty and I didnt think I would need more. I just ordered more solar and out grew my xantrex c35. So listen to what he says. Nice vid Kevin

  • NICE!!!

  • GREAT STUFF MAN THANKS

  • Thanks< Good Stuff ; )

  • thank you for the video.

  • Good video Kevin, Sunelec is the right place most of the time to get the best deals on panels. As far as the angle of panels, the accepted formula is actually extremely simple - your latitude + 15 degrees - that's it. On the amorphous panels you are correct, however, a new wave of panels are now in the market - Thin Film Microamorphous panels which are more efficient as they heat up. That's what the Kaneka and the Dupont panels, they als have a lower cost per watt than mono or poly crystallyn.

  • I don't regret buying the Harbor Freight setup, but it is addictive and I'm going to be upgrading to some better panels and charge controllers in the near future... Question, is it better to buy 6 volt batteries and pair them up in series to make 12 volts, or the 12 volt marine batteries... I'm hearing the 6 volts are the way to go because of the higher amperage? Any insight on that?

  • Great video! Bought a 100w panel a few months ago with a cheap controller, a china made 600w pure sine inverter and 2 deep cycle marine batteries. Purchased the sunforce 60032 charge controller this weekend (has the digital read out info). Guess the next step will be getting a better inverter and then adding more panels/batteries. I don't really regret buying the china stuff because it was a really cheap way to introduce myself to solar (and I'm broke LOL). It really is addictive!

  • I agree Kevin, I bought the Arbor Freight set up, and regret it. Charge controller is way cheap too. Am rethinking my set up. Thanks for the refresher.

  • thanks for breaking it down.

  • Unlike many other hobbies where you might lose interest, solar power is a little addictive. Great advice for us beginners.

  • Great video!

  • Many thanks for clearing the fog and pointing the way to the Sun! Installing solar power is my next big prep. Your timing is excellent!

  • Always great to see a Kevin Video get posted. As always , good video. I looked for WestCoasTDoug and didnt find him, so I had to "apply" myself. His YouTube name is doug2877 for your viewers. Anytime Kevin recommends me to see someones videos, I am going to listen. I just finally got my Harbour Freight panels on my roof today. Like Kevin says, its a starter kit and is responsible for many people getting into SOLAR. Just research what they are to add on. It is addicting. I will be expanding

  • Excellent, I'm checking myself. Start small work my way up.

  • Thank you. I just went from no way to I can do this.
