it was Gorbachev who made this happen. Reagan only helt a nice speech, thats what american officials are good for, like obama.

@GunBoTT nice try... the USSR threw at Reagan: Brezhnev, Andropov, Chernenko finally exasperated tried a younger Gorbachev... Reagan's relentless pressure on the Communist world and his broad success forced the USSR to reform some ...which blew the rotten system apart... from SDI on down... a Soviet general said Reagan call them "Evil Empire" began the unravelling of the Soviet Union... Gorbachev was but a reaction to Reaganism...

@GunBoTT Im not american, but i disagree with you. Reagan pushed gorbachov to revisionism, alog with Helmut Kohl, Margaret Thatcher and Pope Paul. We can`t give him all the credit, thats for sure, but he certainly earned some of it. (Sorry about my rusted english. I need to practice some more :P)
