I loved the remake. It was by far the best Jason movie(in my opinion)to date. Although I was hoping Tommy would be in it. I mean the hay day for horror IS over, which sucks. A remake is generally a bad thing because it implies that what was done before wasn't efficient enough. In the end, you would have to grow up in the time period when all this was going on to comprehend why a remake is, not only unnecessary, but in poor taste.

i have just watchd it and the movie is ok, the lighting is very similar to the 03 remake of texas chainsaw as its the same director...parts are taken from all the first 4 friday the 13ths, for example theres the pamela voorhees beheading(part 1), jason with the bag on his head(part 2), the barn where jason is hung(part 3) and then when jason jumps thru the window and trys to grab tommy, that is recreated(part 4), jason dies by a machette to the chest and a hanging but he comes back at the end!
Well alot of ppl have seen the movie and said it blows. This day and age film makers dont no how to make a death scene. And im hope every ones happy. With this remake done there noway they cant make any more. Inless they name it

I disagree partially If you have gone to a Q.A. you'd hear they are working at an "R" rated pace, So It's not completely a Gross money issue other wise they'd have branded it with the "PG13" badge allowing teenie boppers to attend. However when I approach this film I embrace the Idea of a new twist on a local legend. The problem with that is legends by word of mouth can inherit those twists, but when one guy is able to see his twists come to life it's an abortion film doomed a first shoot!

They DO have an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and take away all the "flaws", but in the process they will destroy what made the original such a success. And when anyone disgraces something like that, people have a right to be upset. At any rate, I love the horror genre and I love Friday the 13th. However, I am COMPLETELY against this remake, and I will NOT be seeing it. Mark my words.

I saw it last night, I grew up with these movies and I must admit, I enjoyed it a lot. I felt it did the series justice.
I hated the Final Chapter, A New Beginning and the Final Friday...not to mention Jason X. That being said, this movie was like a breath of fresh air.
It combines a minor plot point from part 4 of the guy who's looking for his sister. That being said it's more of a collaboration of 2, 3 and 4.
