  • May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties' Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is particularly fond of this instrumental.

  • wow! sometimes u think ur the only 1 who knows about certain things. then u find ur not always alone! haven't heard this in about 15 years! growing up in chicago in the early 80s, this wasn't on most turntables, but it was on mine! bought TOOryeAY first, then discovered they had this b4 it, so i got it. i discovered i loved SOUL REBELS much more! i was 13 and everyone else was into prince, not me! sounds like dexys took a few lessons from the 1st few chicago albums, thanx for the post!

  • Met Kevin Rowland backstage at a Madness gig and spoke with him about this track. I told him it was my favorite Dexys number. He said he could not take credit for it as his writing partner composed it.
