i dont care what anybody says..i liked the last two seasons..yes i understand that to some they jumpd the shark..but to me ..ive always thought..they knew it was gonna be the last two seasons..so they went out with a bang..if you know there will be no more..why not do anything and everything you can at the end..besides. since i tend to ignore the very last epi..i like the idea of them going to disneyworld.i want to go..besides they went before..darlene and them went while roseanne an them tried

@spankie Thank you. This is just what I thought. The only reason why S9 went so fast and furious with all of the jumps was because ABC wasn't going to renew the show again. So why end it repeating the same things (Mark&Becky close to breaking up, Darlene&David breaking up and getting back together every other episode, Jackie dating wildly) when they could end it doing something fun.

Granted, there were many, many, many things out of character in the last two seasons as everybody's characterization was out of whack from the stellar first 6 (or 7) seasons. And this isn't quite the sellout of that godawful lottery season not too far in the future. The Conners did have a history of spending money the instant they got it, so THAT is in character. But the Conners of seasons 1-6 I think would be generally more inclined to make fun of Disney than salivate over it.

After the ABC network merged with the Walt Disney Company, it was a requirement for ABC family shows to shoot from Disneyland or Disney World. Other ABC shows did it too.

Once a sitcom goes to Disney World, you know they've run out of ideas.

@tylertyler82 ABC forced them to do that like all their other family sitcoms (most of those on TGIF). The Roseanne writers got their revenge with "Springtime for David", which sucks by any artistic standard but is still by far the funniest episode of the season. They had run out of ideas by the season 7 finale when they did their "Gilligan's Island" spoof in my opinion. "Another Mouth to Shut Up" and the last 3 episodes of season 8 are on par with the first 6 seasons; the rest of season 8? Blah.

@keleic I'm hating the idea of Disney purchasing a television network and forcing all its family-oriented shows to produce infomercials for Disney World whether or not it is consistent with the characters. A Disney show might make sense for "Full House" or "Family Matters", where the families are more well-off and less cynical about corporate America, but not for "Roseanne", where a trip like this is unaffordable and out of character. Not to mention they already went to Disneyland in season 5.

@tylertyler82 George Lopez and Boy Meets World did an episode in earlier seasons and they made it. It's a requirement to do this type of episode since they're affiliated with WDW.
