  • its abit poop tbh

  • The scene where the lady realized what happened is so powerful. This video is emotionally draining. I can;t help but cry as I watch it.

  • what movieee is this from!?

  • @Juliacutieface The Snow Queen

  • I read this out as a poem at my mother's funeral when I was 11... beautiful.

    WIsh I'd sung it though.

  • I want the soundtrack or the movie D:

  • So emotional and so powerful. I always tear when I watch this video.

  • @david200110 which movie is this from??

  • rosebud

  • How do I add my version to this playlist?

  • Did Ben Crawley do the speaking solo of the song as well as the singing solo? I love this version...its different but I like it. I think both LIbera's version and this version are fantastic

  • No. The speaking / acting is done by Pax Baldwin.

  • I do personally prefer Libera's version... i love Tom's voice.

    Still good though... !

  • I am a big fan of Liberia and I was not happy with this version of this song. Sorry. I did like the way that they sang it nice and peaceful.

  • My chambor choir, Burntwood Chambor Choir (myself included) were the choir who did the backing vocals for the whole Snow Queen piece. I sang Soprano. Utterly the best experience of my life. We also recorded it in several different languages

  • ---Lovely voice indeed...

    Greetings from Germany

  • Woah.. you are SO lucky! This piece, and all the others must have been amazing to play/sing! Just listening to the overture shows the complexities of the ensemble - everyone has got an interesting part! :)

  • PLEASEEEEEEE

does anyone knows where can I find the Soundtrack of the movie, to download???????

    please answer....

  • I don't think it is possible as it was released only as a DVD.

  • It's annoying, because I remember downloading two songs from this movie, one of them being this. But I can't remember where I got them from. I searched the iTunes store but it's not there... :( Sorry...

  • @indreamdreamer Yep, you can buy it on Amazon. It's actually my choir singing on it! Type "paul k joyce the snow queen" into Amazon, and scroll down to the Audio CD version

  • Ben does a brilliant job on this song. Paul K. Joyce has written wonderful songs similar to this one. I say, has anyone seen the movie "The Snow Queen" it is brilliant. Well Done.

  • I have a million times! I love this one because it's very accurate to the books, unlike so many adaptations these days. This arrangement of Frye's wonderful poem is so beautiful. It gives me the shivers every time I listen to it or sing along to it.

  • I agree!

  • 銀魂 化為千風源用於此

  • Who is the composer?

  • It was originally a poem writen by Mary Frye in 1932, I think. Her friend, Ida, died and Mary was so grielf stricken that she just scribbled the poem down on a napkin...

    From sorrow comes beauty...

  • Thanks, but who wrote the music?

  • Wikepedia - A set of operatic songs had been written by Paul K. Joyce for a concert at the Barbican Arts Centre held in 2003. The songs narrated the fairytale of The Snow Queen and featured Sydney White as the lead girl soprano, Juliet Stevenson as the narrator and the London Symphony Orchestra providing instrumentals. Due to the success of the concert, a full-fledged film was developed around the original songs, and in which Sydney White and Juliet Stevenson returned to contribute as actresses.

  • This is so powerful. It always gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes.

  • perfect

  • Oh wow..this sent chills through my body.

I'm singing this for a choir concert tonight..

And I don't think we could ever get it to be so..intense.

    Or maybe we will.

But it truly is a beautiful piece.

  • beatiful ben

  • love it, thanks for sharing~:)

  • This one has a boy talking. The itunes Do not stand- The Snow Queen one does not seem so special, haunting or whatever you want to call it when she talks. Anyways.. I have said enough:)

  • The one available from itunes has a lady's voice in the talking part. This version is the best! I love Libera but this version, I prefer more by Ben Crawley on The Snow Queen.

  • I've decided. I want this piece at my funeral. Wonderful stuff.

  • Thank you for this.

We chose these words for my son's funeral...

I had never heard them before, but they were beautiful.

And my heart is still breaking.

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Never in this world should a parent be subdued to attend the funeral of their own child.

My thoughts go out to you and all affected.

  • My sister read this for me at the cemetery when my son died. Sadly, I read this for her 8 years later at the cemetery for the funeral for her daughter.

Watching this video sent chills through my body. Such painful memories. My heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one and we must have faith that they live on in another, and a better life, than the one here on earth.

  • my heart goes out to you. i'm deeply sorry about your loss. godbless

  • Sorry for the late reply. Thank you so much for your kind words. May God bless you as well.

  • I am doing this poem for my school poetry competition. I am doing it in honor of my uncle . . .

    R.I.P

  • This poem has gotten me through a lot in years past. Never more so than now. I lost my son in a tragic accident less than 3 weeks ago

  • Recently my rabbit I've had for 10 years died, it was the worst pain I felt - never had a family member or friend die. I've had him since I was 6, almost as long as I can remember. There is a strong bond between pets and owners, they become like your child, and so you REALLY care for them, which why I think people love their pets so much.I listened to this all day when my rabbit passed away, and occasionaly since then. I'm sure it will help me overcome more situations in the future.

  • i feel your pain, i recently had to give up my cat which was practically my baby..I'm still not over it, but hopefully i will be..

  • @lovexrage lol yeah ok

  • Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there. I do not die.

  • Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.

  • In this version, it is " I did not die". Both 'do' and 'did' seem to be acceptable.

Similarly, there is the other ending:

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there, I do not sleep.

  • @david200110 So many versions. Even the author is disputed. I have written a new version for my wife's death

  • I sang in this. I miss the choir so much. great memories. :)

  • I was in the choir who sang this, great memories.

  • Oh gosh, thank you SO MUCH for posting Mary Frye's original poem. It is much softer and comforting at the same time. I hope at least MY dear departed are not diamond glints on snow. Ugh.

  • Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing.
  • Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there. I do not die.

  • Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there. I do not die.

  • This a from a poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye. There are different versions of the words but here's the confirmed version:

  • this is a beautifaul song and video, what movie is it?

  • The Snow Queen.

    See More Info for details

  • One of my schools old principle's died and the choir im in will sing this at her memorial. beautiful song.

  • If anyone has this in mp3, can you please send it to me? The song is beautiful!

  • another version from Libera's version. who composed and rearranged it??

    wonderful!!

  • Paul K Joyce

  • i stand by your grave and weep..

cause you are all that i have seen..

i find myself falling to my knee's

    laying out in scream..

i could not help but to think about the times we had.. the times that now will never be..

but till this day i will see her again..

not in life.. but in spirit .. never to be apart from her again....

till i die their will be no peace...~fin

how i wish this person was alive today..for i have writen this before i even heard of this poem/song..:::sigh::

  • it made me so low! what a beautiful song i must say

  • who sings this

  • Ben Crawley

  • One of the most touching songs I have heard in a long time. Absolutely moving. And in its sorrow, it offers a ray of hope. Thanks!

  • My 4 year old son requests to watch this movie every single day. He is so entranced with it!

  • This is beautiful :)

  • It's a lovely song, beautifull :)

  • this movie was great, and i loved this song!

  • Very sad, yet very lovely. I love how Ben sung this version of the song.

  • Whats the history in this video?

  • It is simply an excerpt from the film The Snow Queen:

  • That was so sad and beautiful! Who was the boy doing the speaking part? It doesn't sound like Ben. In the soundtrack it was a woman's voice, whoever she was doing the narrating. I love this video, thank you for sharing it!

  • Pax Baldwin - the boy who played the part of Kay. The woman in the film is the same as on the CD and theatre version - Juliet Stevenson.
