this is not bad at all, for 2 years of choreography, it's very good! I've done a similar routine like this. I agree with BasketBallBalerina, I think that emotion with the arms and head is key for any routine. otherwise, keep up the good work :)

While this might not be the most advanced lyrical out there, I thought the choreography was BEAUTIFUL and I would've LOVED to dance that routine, and it's just class, it wasn't outrageously clean but in all of my classes, that's not what we worry about, we just let the music speak to us and see where it takes us, I thought it was great and the girls were very good. :]
I think this was beautiful whether it was "advanced" or not. What matters is that the dancers had fun doing it and how they thought they performed. Obviously they thought it was good enough (which it was) to post on YouTube but if you haters think you can do better then why don't you post a video of you own "advanced" dance and let more snobs comment on your video.

This video is FREAKING AMAZING!!! All those nasty comments ppl had to say about it is really uncalled for! This is DANCE! Everybody that loves this ART should SUPPORT one another, not tear each other down. And yes this is YOUTUBE, not SYTYCD, so WHO CARES if its not PERFECT! Those girls danced their hearts out and were probably proud of themselves for getting through it. All that matters is that you feel good about your product. Thats what I teach my kids, but I teach Color Guard. Amazing Job!!!

i'm a dancer of 15 years and personally there is nothing wrong with the way these girls are dancing. it's obvious they haven't practiced it but she said that they had learned it in 30 mins. it's a combo dance, it's not going to be perfect. it's funny, the people leaving negative comments probably have never taken a dance class in their lives & have no idea what they're talking about.

Well you know your doing something right when people start posting negative comments on something so beautiful and nice. I loved this dance, maybe because I do have a passion and love for dance. of course it's not up to "par" because it called practice people. I agree if you put things on youtube it should be really up to par. It's not called live tube you see what you upload and so does everyone else. The technique could be cleaner mentally in the beginning you guys didn't look ready to film. As for competition you'll learn as you get older it's called "politics." I'm not saying you don't deserve your award, i'm a judge of competitions. Just know it's a business and theres more to a dancer than awards.

I am a judge for Kids Artistic Review, and I must say, it has NOTHING to do with politics. Judging is basically an individuals opinion plus knowledge.
I know there is more to dance than awards...thats why I teach my kids to dance with passion...
@soozy25 Regardless of how little time they had or whether you put them on the spot or not, the title is 'ADVANCED lyrical dancing'. If you are going to title somthing as being advanced, it should at least reach some standard.
@carameltoff Every dance studio has a different standard for their advanced level. We are a small studio from Youngstown Ohio. If I were to repost this video, I would definitely rename it because yes, at the time, this was our most advanced set of ladies. Now, these girls are much MUCH better. I didn't label it "Most advanced lyrical dancers of the world." Just, for our studio, at that time, this WAS advanced.
Also, when I first started teaching at this studio, they couldnt do any of that stuff. Im not going to knock down a dancer who has been working their tail off to improve for 3 solid years and tell them that I didn't label it "advanced" because people on YouTube will not think it is. It is advanced for the Youngstown area.

these are not advanced Dancers because at our studio they would at the very bottom im 13 and at the top of our company their turns suck wow i can do 5 or 6 turns
i didn't see anything wrong with this video. I think they were amazing and even the people who have been dancing all their lives still find something to work on. Dance is about growing and really showing the beauty of songs. Its a totally different language. I say if people want to be mean, post a video response to this and show us how they dance and let everyone judge them and see how they like it. Great Job with the girls you did an amazing job with them. i cant wait to watch the others videos

Dancers who have the audacity to give useless criticism are just covering up their own insecurities in their dancing. Being virtuoso isn't about turning and leaping. Timing, emotion, and personality are the important things . Some people have lots of growing up to do in dance and their own personalities.

i'm a dancer of 15 years and personally there is nothing wrong with the way these girls are dancing. it's obvious they haven't practiced it but she said that they had learned it in 30 mins. it's a combo dance, it's not going to be perfect. it's funny, the people leaving negative comments probably have never taken a dance class in their lives & have no idea what they're talking about.

Well you know your doing something right when people start posting negative comments on something so beautiful and nice. I loved this dance, maybe because I do have a passion and love for dance. of course it's not up to "par" because it called practice people. That's why you have practice, so you can mess up and get it right. and I must say 931 people liked this video including me so keep doing your thing :) God Bless

I love the part from 0:27-0:38... and dont listen to the haters, these girls have amazing emotion, and trust me, i know what its like to learn a hard combo in like 15 minutes/30 minutes... people really dont give dancers credit for how hard it is :/ ah well... keep choreographing! i do a little myself... but this is wayyyy better <3

I agree if you put things on youtube it should be really up to par. It's not called live tube you see what you upload and so does everyone else. The technique could be cleaner mentally in the beginning you guys didn't look ready to film. As for competition you'll learn as you get older it's called "politics." I'm not saying you don't deserve your award, i'm a judge of competitions. Just know it's a business and theres more to a dancer than awards.

I am a judge for Kids Artistic Review, and I must say, it has NOTHING to do with politics. Judging is basically an individuals opinion plus knowledge.
I know there is more to dance than awards...thats why I teach my kids to dance with passion...

@soozy25 Regardless of how little time they had or whether you put them on the spot or not, the title is 'ADVANCED lyrical dancing'. If you are going to title somthing as being advanced, it should at least reach some standard.

@carameltoff Every dance studio has a different standard for their advanced level. We are a small studio from Youngstown Ohio. If I were to repost this video, I would definitely rename it because yes, at the time, this was our most advanced set of ladies. Now, these girls are much MUCH better. I didn't label it "Most advanced lyrical dancers of the world." Just, for our studio, at that time, this WAS advanced.

Also, when I first started teaching at this studio, they couldnt do any of that stuff. Im not going to knock down a dancer who has been working their tail off to improve for 3 solid years and tell them that I didn't label it "advanced" because people on YouTube will not think it is. It is advanced for the Youngstown area.

these are not advanced Dancers because at our studio they would at the very bottom im 13 and at the top of our company their turns suck wow i can do 5 or 6 turns

i didn't see anything wrong with this video. I think they were amazing and even the people who have been dancing all their lives still find something to work on. Dance is about growing and really showing the beauty of songs. Its a totally different language. I say if people want to be mean, post a video response to this and show us how they dance and let everyone judge them and see how they like it. Great Job with the girls you did an amazing job with them. i cant wait to watch the others videos

Dancers who have the audacity to give useless criticism are just covering up their own insecurities in their dancing. Being virtuoso isn't about turning and leaping. Timing, emotion, and personality are the important things . Some people have lots of growing up to do in dance and their own personalities.

@maiaMASSACRE11 Im 25 years old and do not need to be lectured. Trust me...I have heard MANY peoples positive and negative opinions. But for a 12 year old to have to no morals and sit there and tell another dancer they "suck" is just plain rude. My parents have raised me to be a better person. Ive given negative opinions before too, but there is a way to go about it and not be a jerk. I am a judge for a major competition and understand how and how not to give your opinion. Just sayin...

@mscutiepie561 What you said is really mean. You are acting like a snotty little dancer and I know because I am competitive dancer. This is a really good dance and the technique is awesome. Sure you may be a good enough dancer to win first place, but that will get you no where without good sportsmanship for other dancers. Especially ones that are older than you and have had probably a ton more classes. Learn to be nicer :)
