OMG, this video is amazing!

Seriously, I love Sara and this video made me cry, ha. But it's a really good interpretation of what the show tries to hide, and I personally think they should have allowed Sara and Grissom to just kind of let go for a moment and see if it would work out. When she left, we were all waiting for that kiss which Grissom was kind of out of it when it happened.

You're probably thinking of "Nesting Dolls" in the 5th season, and she is crying because in that scene she's telling Grissom about her past, and the memories cause her to cry.

Nesting Dolls is the turning point.

Sara had been in trouble for a while, then broke down, letting Gil in..at the same time Gris was being squeezed out be Ecklie and Catherine, who are also pushing Sara out of her job. (That is why Catherine has no chance with Grissom, it sealed the fate of both of them with him.) Sara was always loyal to Grissom. I think they were together by the time Nick was buried at the end of season.
