Love this guy! He has a different view of the world. When he looks at something, you see in his eyes that he is thinking about this thing, how he can make it better looking and more practical!
If you love hightech with design, buy a mac! Because the only thing apple brings to their products that microsoft doesn't, is culture!
I use both Windows and Mac everyday, because I have a Windows system at home and Mac in office. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Mac works as promised but allows less flexibility. Windows lets me run it the way I want to run it but keeps crashing. Using a Mac is like eating a gourmet dish; great taste but more money. Windows is like Ramen noodles, good for people on a budget. But, in the end both fill my stomach! :-)
@Devr0ss ... Apple don't compromise choice for simplicity...anyone with a brain can figure out what they need for their computer based projects, and what Apple do, is create a good range of choice, to which the consumer can match their needs to...not everyone is or wants to be a computer genius, so Apple cater to them by making it more simple, but at the same time, if you want to learn about computers, that info is still available to you if you ask, or look at the internet
Steve Jobs for one, is arrogant, selfish and just rude.
1997, Apple was doing very, very poorly as a company. Microsoft gave Apple $150 million to help them get back on track and licensed the use of Microsoft Office for the Mac between 1997 and 2002.
@SOFLY806 Apple uses a lot of hostile marketing towards Microsoft, and they seem to not show any gratitude for the major assistance Microsoft gave them in 1997.
Jobs loves to make cracks about Bill Gates or Windows, never donates to charities and has been known to even be rude to Apple fanboys during press conferences. There's a video out there about a guy politely asking Jobs for an autograph and then Steve just starts being very rude.
@SOFLY806 Apple is about art style and simplicity, not about affordable pricing or allowing 3rd party companies to make a living providing accessories and parts. Everything has to be done by Apple to ensure they have the greatest profit.
They don't listen to their consumers that much. They seem to more program their consumers to listen to them.
People really fall for all the Apple hype. It is true that because of a lot of attention to design that OS X is somewhat more intuitive to use than Windows. But not by much and certainly not the mythical proportions of superiority that people ascribe to it.
But I guess that's what genius marketing gets you...
Add to that, no virus-threats, the system keeps being stable through time (not getting bugged and needs reinstallation for keeping performance as with Windows after maybe half a year), the OS system is beautifully designed and frankly the most easy-to-use of every system. The most stable, secure, nicest designed, and most easy to use. On top of that, the design of the computers exterior is probably the most gorgeous and functional of all out there. Frankly, what else do you really need..?
@RareFlax We need the next generation to learn how to use computers and make change in the world, not to be spoon-fed more closed, proprietary technology with which they need to run to the Apple store every time they have an issue.
PC owner for >10 years. Educated in Windows technology/PC environment. Since I switched to Mac a little more than a year ago, I now know what a "real" PC should be like. It came to me like a really big insight when I started using the Mac, this is how it should be (with an SSD on top of that) it does what you want, fast, no hanging programs (if they do, you forcequit them and the system NEVER freeze) "THE" control+alt+delete defined. No wonder why, my cousin at Symantec has Mac for private use.
@Potatis1337 And if you had typed your reply on your Mac, then the word "has" would have been underlined in green to alert you that your grammar sucks.
@badmanners411 And if the care police would have known about shit conversation, I would be turn into a merry whatever, and I would have very bad manners up to a number of 411 times, to prove my point.
I've used Windows for 7 years. I'm switching to the mac in December because they deserve 10 times the recognition they have. I want a better experience. I have felt Macs , they are so much better. IN therms of design , power and simplicity :D !
@DaveSalty84 True, but his accent, which sounds Australian, is just funny to me as he thinks about the products they are working on. I would bet, that there is a lot of help with designs, that he does not work on... So, Yes, he is the Development Product Manufacturing at Apple, but I think that he is just Acting just a bit, to ADD to the products in a way that people like to hear... People seem to like pauses when you talk, that really shows his Care in a product, but like I said, Acting???
Johnny is English. I want Morgan Freeman to do apple commercials. morgan freeman could read me an in-depth instruction manual for a nuclear reactor and I would be hanging on his every word.
@BeersYourFriend How does he sound Australian? His accent is very English. Are you American by any chance? Because it seems to me that Americans often manage to get those two accents confused... Without wishing to sound rude :)
The true apple philosophy, make computers with the best hardware and software for rich people to piss people who are forced to use Windows because they can't afford a mac.. off.
thats not what he's saying at all. mac is for simple people haha. no. the design is about simplicity, because the people who buy mac do so for a non distractive content rich environment free of labyrinth.
Yes it is and I think you are misunderstanding it. What I think he means go along the line of, "the most simple solution is usually the best" and not simple = dumb.
i got a pc and i done all my projects on my pc, i love my pc as if it got a historical story for me, now i got a macbook and funny is, i use my macbook a lot more than my pc, it's really is a piece of art and i fallen in love immediately after i touch it. and in the future i consider buying an imac to replace my historical pc, i'm an apple fanboy now ^^
One just has to use a Mac and a (Windows) PC for lomg enough to know both, and it becomes so obvious which is the right one to use going forward in life. :-)
@badmanners411 Simple isn't always best when it means removing choice, which it does in the case of Apple. Since people generally prefer things in life handed to them, its no wonder Apple does well.
@badmanners411 I assume you're choice was the PC. Given its lower cost and compatibility as well as its upgrade-friendly, customizable nature...
I would only choose a Mac laptop and I would only do so for its design and its trackpad. Apart from that, all the software I use either works exclusively on PC or runs more quickly on PC. Not to mention, I build my own computers and I hate throwing away a perfectly good aluminum case when I can simply upgrade the internals.
@PocketDrummer I use a Mac. A 3 year old notebook is still as good looking as new (both in its design and wear and tear). It's as fast as it was when I bought it. It's easier to use, causes me less trouble, the remedies are easier if it were to go wrong (do you know how easy it is to reinstall Mac OS X — that's a total pain with Windows).
Did get 7 years life from my last (tower) PC. I only ever had the lid off to clean the dust out, install more RAM or upgrade HDD but then it was all obsolete.
Apple's design is beautiful but they do forget usability in favor of design. Like the macbooks. The connections are so minimal. Only two USB ports is extremely minimal, 3 would be so much better. The aluminum casing is great to look at but it gets extremely hot at times just because the fans are so minimal and aluminum guides heat instead of isolating it. Other than that it's gorgeous :)
This man and his work is largely wasted on the masses who flock to M$ Windoze machines like sheep to the slaughter.

Apple is too expansive for who doesn't have a active social life with gigabytes of pictures, home movies, self made music and videos for YouTube, etc.
For who just go to the internet make some research and chat with a few friends on AIM, like me, the most cheap notebook will do the job.
